Question:
I have a 2004 Forrest River 291 surveyor. Its got a dry weight of 3970, GVW 63-5 and tongue weight of 425. What sway/ weight distribution system would you recommend? I am towing it with a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. Thank you

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Since the numbers you listed are unloaded figures it's hard to say for certain what would be the best system for you to use, but most likely when your system is loaded the tongue weight will be somewhere between 400 and 800 lbs. If so, the part # RP66083 would be a great choice. This system has the only sway control on the market that works to prevent sway before it starts.
