Can a Brake Controller Be Installed in a 2006 Toyota Prius

Question:
We have a 2006 Toyota Prius to which I added a hitch. I pull a 21foot heavy duty aluminum former boat trailer - stripped down mostly to the frame w/open-style aluminum ramps on which to stack things. Now and then I move some somewhat heavy items e.g. radio tower, 1/2 pallet concrete block, lawn tractor. While the Prius has dual brakes recumbent and traditional, its somewhat light and I worry about a heavy load pushing it - especially on a wet road. Is there any reason this would not work with a Prius? Thanks!

First thing you need to do is check the owners manual of your 2006 Toyota Prius to determine if there are any restrictions on towing with your vehicle. Priii weren't exactly designed for towing so you may have to rethink your towing vehicle. But maybe not, your owners manual will tell you for sure.
With that in mind it is possible to install a brake controller in basically any vehicle. If you do not have trailer wiring you will need to start with a 4-way. For that you would want the # 118505.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the P3 brake controller # 90195. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
