Replacement Trailer Lens Cover for 4

Question:

I am replacing a trailer lens cover. This is what is on the current lens. D.O.T. SAE SITP 83. The inside lens dimenstion is 4inch will this part work as a replacement? The picture shows the back of the lens.

The best way to determine which replacement tail light lens you will need is to try and locate a part number on the light housing.

The SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers, number is not the part number of the light, it is just a number on the lens that means that lens has passed SAE guidelines. These numbers are usually on the lenses of most all trailer lights but do not give the information needed to locate a replacement.

If you are unable to locate any markings on the light housing, we can use your measurement to order by size. Going by the 4 inch dimension that you provided, I suggest taking a look at part # A24RB. I went out to our warehouse and used a digital caliper to verify the measurements of the lens and the inner diameter is 4 inches with an outer diameter of 4-1/4 inches.
