Video Transcript for Review of Winegard Support Plate Starlink Standard Satellite System - WG94BJ

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Winegard support plate for your Starlink standard satellite system. Now this support plate is basically going to be an added layer of protection for you, an added layer of reinforcement for those who are mounting a Starlink standard satellite system on their RV roof. So a Starlink roof mount does put its load through a relatively small section of the roof. So this plate is going to sit beneath a compatible mount and it's going to spread that load across a larger area.

The idea is to reduce concentrated stress around the mounting points and help protect the RV roof over time. So you can see the plate at the bottom, the mounting bracket or mounting point there in between the dish and the plate. So I kind of wanted to give you an idea of how this would be installed and how this would be used. This is made from heavy duty metal. It has a corrosion resistant finish.

So this is intended to handle long-term outdoor use, travel and exposure to harsh weather. This plate has a low profile design, which is going to make sense for an RV rooftop where you don't want unnecessary bulk. And again, the main reason to add this plate is roof reinforcement. It doesn't replace your Starlink roof mount or the Starlink system itself. It's just going to give you a stronger, broader foundation underneath the compatible Starlink standard roof mount.

And we do have those roof mounts available here at etrailer as well. Let me give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size. So looking at what I'm calling the width and the length, about 11 and 5/8 inches, it weighs about two pounds. Like I said, it's heavy duty metal, so it's a solid construction. Comes with the hardware that you see there.

Winegard lists this, if you're wondering, as IP67 Type 4 environmental rating. Has an operational wind speed rating of 60 miles an hour and more. And I have that, flip around there so my label is right side up. There we go. Now, since you're going to be mounting this to your roof and drilling into your roof, I do recommend taking a look at some sealant options such as butyl tape and self-leveling sealant. So if you don't already have those products on your screen there, I have some part numbers that are listed for you for some butyl tape and sealant. Just a great way to make sure that moisture is not getting in through the screws that you're using to secure this and also the roof mount for your satellite dish as well.
