Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. Today on our 2015 Ford F150 we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install Torklift talon custom frame mounting camper tie downs. These are aluminum designed for the rear of the vehicle. Part number is TLF3007A. These camper tie downs are designed to give us an excellent attachment point for our in-bed truck camper to help give us better handling as we're going down the road. That camper's not going to be leaning side to side as we're driving. We can get it nice and secure to increase our handling and stability while we're travelling. These are constructed of aircraft grade aluminum.
You're not going to have to worry about any rusting. Not going to have to worry about any corrosion. You can see here we've got our oblong holes. That's going to allow for great tie down attachment from our camper. In the more compact position, the position that'll have our brackets a little closer to the truck. As you can see these are going to overhang by just under 3 1/2 inches. We can quickly adjust this out to the extended position.
In our extended position we're now going to be out to about just under 7 1/2. That's going to give us a full four inches of adjustment to come out. Of course when not in use they're virtually undetectable. Completely removed just like that. As you see we're not losing an ground clearance.
We're not hurt the performance of the vehicle. We haven't drilled into the frame. It's completely no drill application. We use existing hardware holes that already here. It's a really nice, easy add-on to help us out with our travelling. To begin our installation we're going to start here on the passenger side.
If we look right at the end of the hitch cross member, here on the back side there's going to be three bolts that stick out. Each one of those bolts are going to have a nut on it. We want to remove those nuts. Again we're just going to do the passenger side only this time. Now we're going to push in on our nut plate. You might have to pry it a little bit. You may even have to just tap it with a hammer. We want to remove all of our fasteners here. The main obstacle is going to be on this middle bolt. It's kind of got a keeper watcher on it. See that one That little keeper and that keeper is what really hold it in place. As long as you bend those it'll come out. Now we're reading to grab our M14 bolts. We'll need three of them. Place a half inch flat washer on them. We're going to pass these right in through the holes where we just removed the plate. We'll want the threads of these to face the front of our truck. See we have there one, two, and three. Now we use our tinder washer. That's going to slide on our bolt. That's just meant to take up the space that would exist because of this little bracket that's welded on there. We'll bring in one of our plates. We want to position this over all three of our bolts. Just like that. All right now we hold our bolts in from the back and we want to position our bracket up and on. At all three locations we'll slide on a flat washer, also a lock water, and then we'll thread on our nut. Just leave them hand tight for now. Now we'll check in our instructions. We want to find our torque specifications and we'll torque all three fasteners down appropriately. Now we're going to take our attachment arm. We're going to slide that in. You'll see two holes here to choose from. We've got our first setting that would be right there. Then our second setting we actually bring this in a little closer to the vehicle. We can really customize the way this is going to fit. Our bail clamp is going to come around, click on and keep everything in place while we're heading down the road. Once we've determined which of our arms we'll be using in which locations, Torklift provided us with some stickers there. Place these on. As you can see here, passenger rear. We'll know that's exactly where we need to put this each time. We won't have to figure it out or look into our instructions. Now that we've got our passenger side nice and secure we'll head over to the driver side and we'll repeat that exact same process. With everything torqued down to specification that's going to complete our installation of the Torklift talon custom frame mounting camper tie downs, part number TLF3007A on our 2015 Ford F150.

Torklift frame mounted tie downs are a great product. The rear ones are easy to install. The front require a bit more skill and an extra set of hands. It’s a bit nerve wracking thinking you might loose the bolts into the frame! I upgraded my truck from an F150 to an F250. Because the brackets aren’t transferable, I had to get a new set and install them on my F250. I was glad I had the experience with the previous brackets on the F150 because the ones for the F250 are a bit heavier and more challenging to install. But I was able to do it with an extra set of hands to hold the brackets on to the frame. The fact that I went with the same Torklift system is a testament to the product. If you can afford aluminum, they’re beautiful and light. But once everything is in place, there’s no functional difference.
etrailer has great installation videos for the F150, but not the F250. I wish they had install videos for the F250 because it’s a bit more challenging, requiring an impact driver to loosen the nut on the driver side leaf spring.
I recently purchased and installed TorkLift Talon rear tie-downs for my 2016 Ford F150supercab 8ft box. Installation was very easy with well explained directions. Product is excellent quality and will last the life of my truck. I only wish the front tie-down application was available, I would buy it in a heart beat. I will continue to check to see if front application becomes available.

Ordered both front and back set for my 2023 F250. All good except one of the bolt holes for the front drive side is missing. Called etrailer. Option 1 - return (we'll see). Option 2 call torklift. Called torklift and left a message - we'll see what the response is. Viewing etrailer website, this is the proper fit. Viewing torklift website "There are no fits available". Photo included.

Fairly easy installation, lots of support and videos if you need the help. We'll built and works as it should.
The Talons and the fast guns are awesome products, fit and installation was very easy. The products have held up very well and will for a long time. The extra money spent for this set up was very worth it. It takes no time at all to secure the camper down and the fast guns have never needed adjustment after initial set up. ETRAILER was great to work with and followed up after sale. Products shipped quick and were in stock. They also had lots of information posted on YouTube to ease installation. Great company, great products by Torklift!
Always a great product! Shipping packaging needs to be improved as these were received dinged up and scratched. Installed anyways as I didn't want to go through the hassle of reorder and return.

Installed on a 2016 RAM 3500. The install was pretty easy overall however, my biggest gripe is that I needed to purchase 6 extra Grade 8 bolts and nowhere does the packaging indicate that I needed to purchase extra hardware. Also, the drivers side mount was not manufactured 100%-flat so getting the short bolt in was a challenge but finally got it. I'm giving this a 3-star due to the missing bolts and no indication that more would be needed.
The tie-downs were a bit difficult to install for a novice but if you follow instructions closely they did install as outlined in the instructions. They are lightweight and have held my camper in place very well. I am happy with this purchase.
Installed on a 2016 RAM 3500. No issues. These installed very easily but you'll probably want to use an air-impact gun to get the hitch/bumper bolts loosened.
I purchased front & rear TorkLift Frame mounts. Thay worked great and safer than bed mounts.
I bought the Torklift camper tie downs for my new 2017 Ram 3500 dually. I haul a Lance 850 slide in truck camper. They came today and I installed them in about 4 hours. (I work slow) I bought the Aluminum ones so I don't have to worry about any rust. They look great and like the Torklift that was on my old truck I am sure they will give me great service.
