Full coverage fender trim suits a complete wheel opening style. Aluminum options showed no rust streaks, while steel led to rust streaks. If you need side marker lights, choose rounded-edge designs that allow installing lights on the sides; flat-lip styles don't provide a place to mount them.
It depends on the edge shape. Trims with a flat lip can't have side marker lights attached to the sides, since there isn't a place to mount them. Look for rounded edges on the sides that allow the installation of the side marker lights. Verify you're getting front and rear pieces if you need both.
Check the coil length offered. Some 2-1/2" wide fender extensions are only available in a 50' coil. If you only need 25', plan to use the extra for replacement parts or sell the remainder.
Aluminum can help prevent rust streaks compared to steel. A steel set caused rust streaks after 8 months on a Jeep, while aluminum meant no more rust streaks. If your vehicle just got painted, consider aluminum to reduce staining.
