It was aggravating to remove the old one and start bolting the new one and find the bolt pattern is different. I had to drill a 9/16" hole for 3/8" bolts match the pattern . Make sure to measure first.
I built a shed to hold my tools and wanted a locking device to keep unauthorized folks out. The quality of the bar lock is excellent. The 55” length keeps the door secure from being pried open. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Worked out great for me. I had a 70" side door that only had an RV style lock. I wanted something beefier so I purchased this.
The first thing I had to figure out is that there is trim along the side door that wouldn't allow the side-door bar lock assembly to be mounted flush. So I cut up some plastic into 1 1/4" x 4 1/2" pieces and built up the hinge mounting points. That solved the issue.
A lot of the reviews suggested using 2" 5/8" carriage bolts for mounting. I found I needed 2 1/2" or even 3". The 2" bolts were just *barely* long enough for most of the holes and didn't leave me with anything left on the inside to put in a reinforcement plate.
Anyway, great accessory for your trailer. I'm happy with mine.

Excellent quality. Still looks and works like new!
Does fit, bolt holes don't line up. I entered my trailer info and this item popped up, so I ordered it. Now I need to return it and am getting charged return shipping, which was not mentioned when I called to get a return label. They guided me to the wrong item and now I get penalized. Won't order again.
If you wanted to add them to a nice trailer, they look poor and the quality is not great. also, when going to install them the brackets that hold, the bar are not square and also pressed very tight. You have to use WD-40 to loosen them up and even then they’re not real loose.
Product came very quickly. I had two barn doors on a dump trailer that I wanted more support for closing, so I used this instead of a clasp. There is pressure pushing out from inside, and this keeps it solidly closed. Also having the long handle gives a little more leverage to push up and allow it to open with the pressure against it. I would definitely recommend this product to someone looking for a longer, more secure door latch.
Great quality, and a fair price. Shipping is always a detriment these days. Still, it's exactly what I've been needing to secure my instruments. Clearly Etrailer, is seeking repeat customers with there heads up on back orders, and follow up E-mail.

Overall a good product. I installed it over an RV style door on my enclosed trailer.
Cheap stamping of the latch itself and lack of quality control leaves me needing to dremel out the opening to correct the alignment of the hole so that a puck style lock can be used. A little disappointed here...

The service we received was excellent. Our Bar Locks arrived much faster than expected and were exactly as described. They were installed easily and a perfect fit. The only problem is now the shiny new bars don't match the rest of the rusty trailer.

The assemblies were as expected - we were replacing Imperial assemblies so we had to modify the brackets to align the holes. The bars were too tight and we needed to shim them out to take extreme pressure of the locking arm. Still a great replacement.
It looks nice, can't install on my trailer though without some customisation, which you guys aren't able to help with... It should come with done hardware too.
This was also used on our custom landscape truck to keep ramp door shut.

Changed a front dropdown hybrid camper tent door from screw clamps to these normal door latches for better sealing.
Not quite as heavy metal as older latches, but adequate for task and thick enough to weld. Robot welding is beautiful, some spatter berries to remove. Plastic cover plugs on ends were distorted damaged and ugly so I tossed those. Overall good rpoduct and worked well for intended purpose. Good price for the quality received.

Replaced screw clamp latches on front of a fold out camper with these cam locks. Better seal and more secure. I had to cut and weld to get length I wanted but overall worked well. Still rust free. Needs some oil on hinges occasionally, as to be expected. Would buy again if needed.
Got the parts I ordered and quickly!
Hinge holes didn't line up, I had to elongate the bottom holes about a quarter of an inch.
I purchased this enclosed trailer lock system to use on my tool storage shed after being broken into. This thing is great. It has secured my shed and the way it mounts, they'd have to tear the shed down in order to get into it. The parts arrived on time, they were complete and I've been using it for a year. I live in rainy country and there are no signs of rust or aging at all. Great part and great value.

I love this lock system. I put it on a tool shed to prevent theft. It’s tough and smooth and easy to use. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it is holding up remarkably to our wet weather. Not a spec of rust anywhere.
Purchased the side door bar lock after the original one got bent in an altercation with a gate post.
The bar fitted perfectly was easy to install and has given flawless service ever since.

The quality and the value of the product was great. I would have given a n excellent if the hinge holes had lined up with my existing holes. They were off by about 3/8 of an inch resulting in having to move the bar slightly to the right in order to drill new holes in the trailer. A measurement in your description that shows the distance from the top, lower hinge hole to the bottom, upper hinge hole would have prepared me for drilling new holes in the trailer and knowing the bar was going to have to be slightly crooked. Hope it holds up to the test. Thanks for rushing my order through...service was great!
