Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs
Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.
Love it! It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.

Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs
We were very happy with our Thule roof rack. The low profile design works well and does not have too much wind noise compared to others I’ve had. It’s held up very well also through the seasons.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 47" Long x 35" Wide - 165 lbs
Greetings, I am giving these items 3? Because I was offered alternative products that did not fit together. Originally, I intended to purchase a roof rack cargo basket type and a spare tire holder from Yakima manufacturer that go well together, but one of them wasn’t in stock. So, after 3 weeks waiting time, I was offered alternative items via etrailer website, and I accepted them…after all, they are the experts. I got the recommended items through UPS, then I assembled them by myself. The roof rack cargo basket fit well on my car, but the spare tire holder was not compatible with the roof rack cargo basket. They couldn’t be assembled together. I submitted my claim to return the spare tire holder. Now, I have not achieved my goal to carry my spare tire. Understanding the needs and expectations of your customers is critical to maximize customer satisfaction. I am sure both products are good, but they are not compatible together, even though they were manufactured by the same company. Distributors should know better! I returned one item and I hope to be refunded.
Great product. Easily puts together and I was able to install on our 2016 Toyota Highlander OEM roof rails with no problems. The mounting brackets slide to make for a easy fit. Have taken it on two long road trips with zero issues last summer one to the montains and one to the beach. Was able to fit our jogging stroller on in the basket. Had some heavy rain on one trip and seen no signs of water getting into the rails as that was a concern of mine when researching the different racks. The high sides allowed for easy tie downs for the weather bag we put the stroller in. Seemed to add a little road noise with nothing in it but that is to be expected when hauling things on the roof but the wind deflector seemed to keep the noise down. Easy to put on and off with a single person able to lift it. Great product, great fit for the car. Plan on using it for some more upcoming trips.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall - 150 lbs
I love the rack and the extended length is great on my Sequoia. I am disappointed with the finish on it as the connector plates are already showing signs of rust….. I like it enough that I’m going to repaint it with something more suited to our climate…
The rack and extension arrived in sturdy boxes, well packed and no damage in shipping. The parts fit together easily. The welds left something to be desired, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. As a precaution against corrosion,I got some plasti-dip, which is a rubberized vinyl sealant and sealed all the places where moisture could get into the various tubes of the rack. I was satisfied with the quality of the powder coating on all the parts. The mounting system to the roof rack is interesting and appears well-designed. The assembly and installation instructions are OK, but could have been written better. For example, there is an extra tightening knob for the U-bolts, but no description if it is there as a spare.

Our demonstration model has been in our studio for a while and it's been putting up to a lot of our abuse, and as you can see, it's not very bad condition at all as far as breaking through to bare metal. There's plenty of space to store your gear and the straps do not come with this, although you can purchase them on etrailer.com.With everything installed, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket. As you can see here, there's plenty of space.The overall dimensions of the rack are going to be 47 and 3/16 inches long by 35 and 3/8 inches wide by 5 and 1/2 inches deep, and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights and go by the lower number.The cargo basket has a nice aerodynamic shape to it, plus it has this fairing at the front and that's going to help cut down that noise while you drive. However, when you have a fully loaded cargo basket it more than likely will make some noise while you travel.Right now we have it installed on aero bars but this will also work on square or round elliptical and most factory roof racks. This does have padding at the bottom where it makes contact with the roof rack so it won't get scratched up or anything like that. It's a very simple installation where you have two screws on either side that tighten down and grip it around the roof rack itself.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof basket, let's go ahead and show you how it installs.

This roof top cargo basket is great for carrying your luggage, sporting good's equipment, or camping gear on top of your roof, while freeing up space inside your Tuscan. It has plenty of space to store everything, although the straps do not come with it, but you can find these on etrailer.com.And with everything installed like you see it here, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket. As you can see, there's plenty of space in between. The cargo basket has plenty of space to work with, with it being 44 inches long, by 39 inches wide, by seven inches tall. And while it doesn't come with the tie downs to strap everything in place, it does have plenty of tie down points with these rails all the way around the cargo basket to secure your gear.And with this, you do want to make sure the crossbar spread, that's the measurement from center to center, is going to at least be between 17-3/4 inches, and 24-3/4 inches.

Now you can add an additional 21 inches with the extension that's sold separately.It does have the faring up at the front which will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, although with everything loaded up, it will still produce some noise.Right now we have it attached to aero bars, but this will work with square, round, elliptical, and with most factory roof rack systems, as well.

The Thule Canyon is great for carrying your luggage, your sporting goods or camping equipment on the top of your roof, and freeing up space inside your Tucson, or just keeping whatever you don't want on the inside of your vehicle out of it, and you can strap it down and you're ready to go.While it doesn't come with the tie downs to secure it down into place, you can find these on eTrailer.com, but the basket itself comes with plenty of tie down points, these railings on the side and underneath, to secure your load down to make sure it doesn't move while you travel, and with everything installed as you see it here, it's not going to be an issue with hatch clearance, either. As you can see, plenty of space in between.The basket itself does have a aerodynamic shape to it, and that, coupled with the fairing that does come installed on it already, that's going to help cut down that wind noise and drag while you drive. Now, once you have everything off, it's going to cut it down even more so. However, once you have bulky items like this, you may still experience some noise.With it fully loaded like you see here, we have a carrying capacity of 150 pounds with the actual carrier itself. However, you always want to go by the vehicle's manufacturer's instructions as to how much weight you can put on your roof and go by the lowest measurement there.And there's plenty of space to store your gear with this having dimension measurements of 49 inches long by 40 inches wide by six inches tall at its highest point, and how this attaches to your roof rack system will have a simple clamp system here with turn knobs to tighten it down into place.Now, while we have this attached to aero bars right now, this will also work with square, round, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems.

Today on our 2016 Hyundai Tucson, we'll be doing a test fit on the Curt roof mounted cargo basket. That's part number C18115. It measures 41 1/2" long, 37" wide, and 4" deep. Now, if you'd like you can also pick up an extension which adds an extra 21". If you'd like a bigger basket, feel free to pick up the extension with part number C18117. A few things you need to know about this roof basket is it's made out of serious steel construction with a black powder coat finish, so it's going to resist rust and corrosion. It's got a boxier shape than most roof baskets, which is okay.
Thule Roof Basket Review - 2016 Hyundai Tucson
Today on our 2016 Hyundai Tucson we'll be doing a test fit on the Thule Canyon XT Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. That's part number TH859XT. It measures 49 inches long by 40 inches wide and 6 inches deep, here at the center that is. You could also pick up an extension sold separately that adds an extra 20 inches, which will then give you 69 inches. If you'd like a bigger basket go ahead and pick that up. You can pick it up with part number TH8591XT. A few things to know about this basket is it's got a low profile design.
