Video Transcript for DIY 2019 Mazda CX-5 Installation for the ClearPlus Intelli Curve Windshield Wiper Blade

Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2019 Mazda CX5 I'm gonna walk through how to install the ClearPlus Intelli Curve windshield wiper blades. If you're looking for new windshield wiper blades for your vehicle, I think the ClearPlus Intelli Curve are gonna be a great option. For a couple reasons. One, where our hinges are they're gonna have a rubber cover over them so that's gonna help the hinges hold up a lot longer, they're not gonna stick, you're not gonna have runs on your windshield when you're trying to clear water, ice, or snow off. It's gonna have a rigid center and a soft outer edge where the hinges are and what that does, it allows it to, not only create more downward pressure in the middle, but it allows the outside of the blades to contour to the glass shape.

These are gonna be graphite coated to help reduce any risk of chattering as your windshield wiper is going if you hit some dry glass. If we come back up here to the cover here you'll notice it kind of has a wing on it. And what this does is it allows the wind to kind of bounce off and go over the windshield, instead of on it which is gonna help reduce how much ice and snow build up you have. These are gonna come in a set of one. The reason is, is because the driver and passenger side are two different sizes.

Driver's side is gonna be twenty four inches long, passenger side is gonna be eighteen inches long. Just wanna check our fit guide and make sure you pick up the correct sizes. They are gonna come with all the hardware. So it's gonna come with all the brackets to fit the arm that you have on your vehicle. Now, there are a lot of different types of wiper blades out there.

And as I mentioned before, I think ClearPlus is gonna be a great option. It's better than going to an auto parts store, spending 40 or $50 on wiper blades that aren't gonna last you a couple months. ClearPlus is the way to go. I've had them on my vehicle. They seem to last quite a while before I had to replace them.

Now that we've gone over some of the features on these let's show you how to get 'them installed To start your installation it's a good idea to have a piece of cardboard, piece of foam underneath the wiper blade that you're working with to create a buffer between the metal arm and the glass. Because if you happen to drop this, hit this glass, it will shatter it. We're gonna push this button right here in the center and we're gonna slide out our old blade. We're gonna take the longer of the two blades for our new ones we're gonna flip this little plastic piece over and we're gonna push down. We're gonna pop that off and pull it out. We're gonna take this one here. We're gonna make sure that the raised side is up towards the roof. We're gonna make sure you install this the correct way. Which I just didn't. And we're gonna take it like this and slide it into place. Once you get one side done, you're gonna repeat the process for the other side and you're ready to go.
