When your hands are full, being able to open the cover without wrestling with straps or snaps makes all the difference. The PowertraxPRO MX runs on an electric motor controlled by a remote key fob, so you can open or close it with the press of a button. The sealed ball-bearing rollers glide smoothly without lubrication, and the electromagnetic brake lets you stop the cover anywhere along the rails. You get quick access when you need it and the flexibility to cover part of the bed while hauling longer gear.

Bad weather, dust, and road grime are no match for solid 1" thick aluminum slats and full-length weather stripping. Foam seals line the rails and an overlapping tailgate edge keeps moisture out. The matte black finish resists scratches and fading, while the cover’s impact-resistant construction stands up to snow loads up to 500 lbs evenly distributed. Two drain tubes built into the canister channel away any water that sneaks inside, keeping everything underneath clean and dry.

Once closed, this cover locks tight with the same remote that opens it. The electromagnetic brake keeps it fixed wherever you stop it, so no one can pry or push it open. With your tailgate locked, the bed is sealed off from thieves and the elements. The rigid aluminum slats and continuous rails give you the peace of mind that your gear stays where you left it.

Digging for tools or bags after dark is simple with the built-in LED on the canister. It turns on or off using the same key fob and automatically shuts off after 3–5 minutes to save battery power. You can see what you’re grabbing without exposing the rest of your cargo.

The PowertraxPRO MX sits just 1" above the bed rails for a sleek, low-profile appearance. The spiral-track canister keeps the cover from rubbing against itself and takes up minimal space thanks to its angled bottom, leaving more room for gear underneath. The smooth aluminum panels roll out flush with the canister for a finished look that complements the truck’s lines.

Connect the front cover below the rails, using the front cover mounting screws. Pull the protective film off the spiral canister. Apply the rubber washers to the drain tub fittings, and connect the drain tubes to the 1/2" holes located on the bottom of the spiral canister. Once you've assembled the Retrax cover, two people should work together to lift the cover onto the truck bed. Once the cover is in place, insure that the weather strip on the front of the cover is laid out properly on top of the bulkhead of the pickup, pointing toward the cab. Close the tailgate, and using the measurement tool that is supplied, measure 1/8" between the bottom notch of the rail and the inside face of the closed tailgate.
Next, install the clamps. Start with the locations closest to the canister. The clamps are mounted between the rail adjustment screws. Then attach the rear set of clamps. Once the cover is secure, direct the drain tubes so that they drain water out of the truck bed. Drain holes vary on different makes and models of trucks.
Once finished, open and close the cover, making sure that it is rolling without binding. If needed, turn the rail adjustment screws so rails remain parallel. Pull off the protective film, and double-check that the keys and lock work properly. Now that the Retrax Retractable Bed Cover has been installed, you're ready to take it out on the road.

Not even close to water tight
Very easy install. Love the finished product. Roughly 2 hours to install. I did install by myself and worked fine.
Had one on my other truck
Good to have one on this truck as well
Stopped working, will move 3 inches and then gets stuck
Product is so far so good. There is a screw holding the motor housing that seems tilted. Hopefully it won't be an issue down the road. Delivery was terrible as it was late and I needed this for work. I spoke to etrailer customer service which was unhelpful and not accommodating for additional accessories I was looking to purchase.
