Features to know about

Climbing Icy Driveways or Steep Grades: V-Bar Studs Bite Into Frozen Roads

When the snow piles up or the roads glaze over with ice, these Titan Chain V-bar links are the real deal. Each 8 mm (0.312") twist link has sharp V-bar studs that dig into deep snow and hard ice so you can keep traction even when conditions get rough. The ladder pattern lets your tires grip as you move forward, perfect for getting up steep driveways or through snow-packed roads without spinning out.

Tackling Deep Snow, Ice, and Mud: Heavy-Duty Build Keeps You Moving

These chains aren’t just for light flurries—they’re built for serious winter weather and even off-road use in muddy or boggy areas. The V-bar Icebreakers crush through packed snow and ice, helping you stay in control when the roads disappear under a sheet of white. If you ever find yourself stuck in a slick rut, the aggressive cross chains give you the bite needed to pull out and keep rolling.

Spend Less Time Adjusting: Built-In Cams Make Tensioning Simple

Getting chains tight on your tires can be a hassle, but the built-in cams on these chains take the struggle out of it. Just insert the included tool, twist the cams, and the chains pull snug around your tire. Twist as many as needed to get a secure fit. For an even tighter hold, you can add rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately).

Built to Last Through Harsh Use: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Resists Corrosion

Winter conditions are tough on gear, but these chains are made from nickel manganese alloy steel to handle it. The material stands up to rust, wear, and repeated use in snow, ice, and slush. Dry them after each run and they’ll be ready for the next storm.

Ready for Big Tires and Heavy Conditions: Sized for 20"–22-1/2" Tires

These heavy-duty chains come as a pair and fit tires from 20" to 22-1/2". Whether you’re gearing up for the next mountain run or prepping for chain law conditions, this set brings the toughness and traction you need to power through winter’s worst.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w Cams Review

Adam: Hi everyone. Adam, etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan chain, snow tyre chains. So this does have a V bar style link, which is going to be the more aggressive style of your snow tyre chains. This is going to wear down a little bit more than some of your square shaped links, but it is going to give you superior traction to all of those. It may be a little rougher ride, but this is definitely going to get you out of those snowy or icy situations.

So this is going to be a ladder-pattern style tyre chain. Also, it is going to be made of a low carbon steel construction. It's going to last a decently long time and resist against rust and corrosion. Whenever you have these on, it's probably going to be soft on the roads. So having a nice, solid metal is definitely going to help it wear away. So, these do come in a pack of two, which have a decently sturdy canvas bag.

So for your all wheel drive and four wheel drive applications, you can just grab two sets on etrailer.com and it's going to be the same exact installation process on all four of your tyres. So the first thing we're going to want to do is lay out our chains and make sure there's no kinks in our links. Also, something to note, we want to make sure that the V-Bar is going to be facing out away from our tyre, and the open end here is going to be facing out as well. Once all that's done, we can try to grab the middle of our chains and drape them over our tyre. We'll make sure we get it nice and even. So now that we're back here, we're going to take our spare links here and our hook.

We're going to find a chain. I want to do the second closest, and then we're going to go around front and complete the connection. So around front, we're going to take our metal portion here, put it through a link and bend it over like so, it connects it to our spare link here. Now we can take our cam tensioner tool, put it into place and rotate this around to get that desired tightness. We don't have to do all of them, but I am going to do two here. We do have about four on this kit.

That should be pretty tight. So these cams did do a pretty good job at getting these chains nice and tight. And I only use two of them. There's two more that I could tighten down if we needed to get a little bit tighter, but if you want that added security and comfort, you can go on etrailer.com and purchase some of these rubber tensioners. And all you really need to do is just have the hooks facing out away from your tyres and then go on a diamond or star-pattern just across from each other to get them installed. That's something that you would like to have with your tyre chains. They don't come with them, but, we do sell them here at etrailer.com. Well, everyone, thanks for tuning in and taking a look at Titan chain, snow tyre chains..

Went on easy. Fit perfect. Got me unstuck in a driveway covered with a foot of snow. Great product!

by:

Tested 'em out and fit exactly. Tied back with a chain link for no loose ends. Headed north with the snow and ice. Ready for the road ahead. Easy install. Cam over pulled everything tight. 265-70-17's .

by:

Excellent tire chain fitment info on website. Used Live Chat for a question with a positive response before ordering.

by:

nice response on geeting my product and easy to order harder than i thought to instal. i have had chains before just dont remember it being this hard

by:

They fit my 275/60-20 tires on my RAM 1500 just right. Took less than a minute to put each one on. Took it for a drive everything seems great.

by:

Awesome chains great value...
Seriously
heavy duty full link chains that are easy to put on. Great fit, put them on and never had to adjust or retighten them all day. Would recommend these chains and this seller to closest of friends.

by:

Received my order a day earlier then predicted. Just in time for me to head up to my cabin. Spent the afternoon putting them on my truck to get the correct fit, so when I head up the mountain I know how to set the links.

by:

Tire chains fit great! Plenty of snow on the ground to test em out. They showed up promptly and great customer service now and in the past. Would recommend 100%.

by:

Excellent communication throughout the shipping process.

by:

Great value. Very easy to install. I did it up in the mountains before a steep section of trail. I used the rubber tensioners and it was super easy. Seems like price has gone up though; still a good value.

by:

They looked like a nice set of chains, but have to rate a 1 star due to my experience. A customer service rep confirmed via chat that these chains would fit my tires (265 70 R16), but they were too small.

by:

These are the best chains, hands down. I live off grid in an area where people constantly lose their vehicles or get them stuck. I need these half of the year and I've never been stuck, even with multiple feet of snow and ice. For most people I don't think you'll ever need replacement parts but for people like me they're easy to repair, diagnose, tighten etc. It's worth noting that you need some grip strength to tighten the cams, I haven't had issues but if you're a woman I'd recommend the "T" shape cam tightener etrailer sells so you can torque it better. It's important to note that these work great with even super knobby tires, so don't shy away if you need this style of chain.

I can't recommend these enough, if you're a road traveler this is not the product for you but if you're on the farm, using this for a plow truck on an icy dirt road, going up snowy hills, going offroad in the snow, are camping in snowy wilderness etc this is for you. Just make sure you don't spin, because you can easily snap cross bars this way.

etrailer is fantastic, as an aside and has been super helpful.

2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 TC2828CAM w/ TCMA3 Rubbers (Heavy Trucks)
Just received items and installed 1st time after watching video. Took 15 min in garage for dry run. Installed as video directed. Was an easy install considering that I am 65 yr old. Decided on these instead of cables for their longevity and safety. Don’t want a failure while driving. Very happy and impressed with these.

by:

Received the chains quicker than expected. Easy to install in the garage on a dry warm day.! Should be reasonably easy to install when needed in the snow. FORD recommends no chains for your pick up. However, etrailer demonstrated that they can be used, I appreciate the extra effort they went through. Always need chains in the mountains during hunting season.

by:

These chains work great and look better. We were driving to a trailhead where the road turned into deep hard snow with 1.5 foot deep ruts. We couldn’t proceed because of downed trees. The snow was hard enough that the truck got stuck in 4WD low because it kept digging itself in. Thank goodness I had the chains because once I put them on I was able to grip and turn around with no issue.

by:

Excellent experience! Great price and free, fast shipping! Very impressed, I'll be back! You are an excellent option to the popular online shopping monopoly. Thank you!

by:

They are great chains but you have to, have to, have to, I can’t express it enough, buy the rubber bungee cord hooks to make it tighter and keep the chains on, I tried without it at first and any speed over 8mph and they might fall off, I have a 2018 F150 and with both products I can drive up to 35 to 40 mph without any issues even though I think that speed is not recommended, I just wanted to see what would happen. It’s a Texan thing, I’ve used these in Colorado and New Mexico and are perfect

Fast, simple, easy ordering and quick shipping. All other companies should copy etrailer's method. I have dealt with them for various items for 10 yrs now and never disappointed.

Ok, new to chains here. These came extremely fast over the Christmas holiday. I have a cabin in north central PA on top of a mountain. Two weeks ago I came up the mountain and it had snowed during my stay. It was absolutely terrifying going back down the dirt road, I had zero traction, took me an hour to go 2 miles, a neighbor had plowed, but it was like sledding in my vehicle. Up this week with chains with v bar, night and day, it's like driving on road with no snow, no sliding, complete control, what an amazing difference, absolutely recommend these chains. I ordered for 265/60/18 but also have a truck that is 265/75/16 that these are rated to fit, they do, but will need the spider bungee as they are sort of loose on the 16 rim.

by:

I live on an unpaved road 7 miles in high on a mountain which ices up nightly. Winter starts here mid October and ends mid May. These ice chains are needed to get me home a few nights a week during the winter months. They fits as described. I questioned Angela at customer service if these chains wold fit “E” load tires. She told me they would and they do. I like etrailer as my goto accessory store for my HD Sierra, Tundra and Tahoe Z71. The videos are very informative except I haven’t been able to install the chains without moving the vehicle. I need to roll it either forward or back to complete the install. Please see photos.
Thank You for your Professionalism at etrailer

For a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic with 4x4 with stock 275/60 R20 tires.
Summary: Good on Rear Tires NOT on Front Tires.
They fit good on the rear tires but I do not recommend for the front tires. Unless I'm installing them wrong there is not enough clearance between the inner front sidewall and suspension components (Steering Knuckle and Upper Control Arm). It would be nice to have on both front and rear axles though.

I had a heck of a time trying to get chains. No where locally, had the size I needed so I had to go online. etrailer.com was actually quick and easy to use. Found the ones I needed and got them ordered. It said it wasn't going to be delivered till the 27 or 28th... they came in on the 24th! Because of the fast delivery I was able to use them today and boy, did I need them! Snow, slippery, the road had kind of a step climb up to the job. Had a couple spots where I had to back up and take a different approach. Telling you, these chains were great!
Thanks again for the quick delivery!

by:

I keep these in my truck “just in case” and had that opportunity while scouting in the mountains. Ran up and into a little more snow than my tires and 4WD could handle. 10-15 minutes later and we got up and out. These are not some cheap wimpy tire chains. These are the real deal. Keep a set of chain tighteners and a couple zip ties for the inside slack chain links and you can go for miles.

by:

The Titan Snow Tire Chains are an exact fit based upon my vehicle. Packaging was superb in that I ordered two pairs (4 chains) which came in a very heavy box. Everything I have ever purchased from etrailer has been exactly what I asked for and delivered flawlessly including this purchase. etrailer is my go-to vendor for my vehicle upgrade and safety solutions.

by:

Tire chains fit my Silverado 1500 an was easy to install an made of good quality. Would order again if I needed more.
