Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if chains might affect your ABS/ESP functionality, consult your owner's manual.

These chains are outstanding in serious winter weather conditions because the grooved square links provide more grip than traditional square links, and the net pattern gives you exceptional lateral and braking traction. So, you'll be able to work even in the toughest weather. You can also use them if you ever need to go off-road into soft soil, or if you're trying to prevent a mud-digging situation. These chains are going to help give your heavy-duty vehicle purchase to pull out so you can keep your logging truck, emergency vehicle, bus, or other large truck moving.

If you live in an area prone to heavy ice, we recommend studded chains that can bust through the ice and really dig in to give you maximum traction.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new tire chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Tire Chains

  1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
  2. Drape the chain over the top of the tire and tuck it as far under the wheel as possible.
  3. Drive in reverse about half a tire rotation.
  4. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire, securing with the lever.
  5. Pull on the side chain until the entire tire chain is cinched tight. Then use the spring clip to fasten the chain, securing it tightly around your tire.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

Best Made ChainsI have a set for the front and rear wheels on my F350 with Detroit lockers and 19.5 commercial truck tires. I have used the chains both on and off road, in mud and snow. They have been, so far, indestructible. They are heavy as hell, but go on remarkably easy and tension is adjusted easier than any other chain I have used. They look AWESOME and the only downside is all the stares and questions you will get about where to buy them!

haven't put theses on the Chevy yet. They look like a tuff chain that can take some abuse.
