Video Transcript for Breaking Down the Replacement Bevel Gear Kit for Fulton Jacks

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement Bevel gear kit. Now this replacement kit includes everything that you are going to need to replace or repair the Bevel gears on your Fulton Marine or recreational jack. And on your screen, I am including the model numbers of the Fulton jacks that this is going to work with. And also on your screen, I am putting the measurements of the parts of this kit in case you are in need of them. I saw that our neighbors on our product page here at etrailer.com for this kit many of them asked for these dimensions.

So I went ahead and included a a diagram of the measurements of the pieces of this kit in case you are in need of them. And you can find this same photo with the diagrams and measurements on this product page. So this kit includes the gears, the roll pins, the washer and the handle bushing, and you're also going to receive a set of instructions as well. And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.

Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

fast shipping and the right parts

by:

This rebuild kit for my Fulton tongue jack worked very well. Fortunately I had taken the jack apart to troubleshoot it and temporarily repair it several times so I understood how to disassemble it and put it back together.
The kit does not contain instructions on how to do that, so if you tackle this relatively easy job, pay attention to the disassembly so you will know how to put it back together with the new parts. If it had proper instructions, I would rate it excellent.

Exactly as described, very fast shipping, everything in stock as well. Will do business with etrailer again.

Exact replacement for my fulton trailer jack

by:

After calling Fulton customer service to find the parts for my Jack that was on my Trailrite trailer from 1990. They told me the jack was obsolete and no parts were available for the jack any longer. My boat mechanic told me to check out etrailer.
I found the videos helpful in matching up my existing parts with the current products. Found that a combination of Fulton bevel kit for the 800-1200 jack and the Bulldog 2000lb. Bearing kit was what I needed, I did have to use a combination of new and old washers to get the right spacing.

by:

The first time I ordered this product it was missing one part from the kit. I notified etrailer and they sent me a new kit free of charge. Thank you for standing behind your product etrailer.

This Replacement gear kit for the 1,200lb. Fulton Tongue jack on my 2008 Boston Whaler trailer was perfect in every way. It was ultra easy to install, fit perfect and has worked flawless now for over a year, being used every weekend throughout the spring, summer and fall. I also highly recommend etrailer as they were incredibly helpful in selecting the correct part, in pricing and ultra fast shipping. George is great! thank you.

Over year later with proper lubrication works perfect.

This kit allowed me to restore normal operation to my Fulton boat trailer jack. The vertical gear in my jack was missing one tooth, leaving the jack marginal to lift the tongue of my trailer, but works like a new jack after installing this repair kit.

This kit allowed me to rebuild my boat trailer jack rather than replace it. It now works like new. The parts fit perfectly.

by:

Fulton jacks are very repairable,so having repair parts saves a lot of money not having to replace a jack just because one part is broken.I've turned into my boat trailer too sharp 2 times and broke the jack, but have been able to fix it both times.

Still working like a champ.

by:

Product was great but the instructions did not address specifically the problem of how to take out and put in the parts to the jack. It was a general instruction sheet for the jack and other types of jacks. Luckily I'm fairly mechanically inclined and figured out what to put where. It seems to work fine. People at etrailer were very helpful and professional.

That jack worked for awhile. Parts were okay but the main screwbolt seemed to give out. I ordered a new jack from your company and its doing just fine.

Thanks for the follow up, happy to hear you new jack is working out for you.

by:

Took about an hour. Messy but worth it. Need a good set of pin punches for sure. Had to make up a shim for handle drive gear to get clearance for good gear mesh. Was sloppy in the handle in my opinion which led to failure in the first place. Anyone who has ever set up gears gets what I’m saying. Works better than new now and I expect it to outlive me. Great service!

Still working great!!

by:

Installed and seems to be working OK. For the Jack used on my trailer for my 17.5 Starcraft. The previous gear split in 1/2 which seems strange for a boat that weighs what mine does. This one seems to be working as it is supposed to. I followed the directions that came with part and from another post here on this part.

Product still in use ,working well

by:

Product was delivered as described and fit perfectly, it was generally an easy repair if you're at least a little handy. It has been installed for one year so far and gets use at least 12 - 24 times a year of actual cranking on it in the boat hitch.

by:

Price was fair, ordering was easy, tracking was spot on, installed in my jack last night with no problem at all.

I had to rebuild the jack. It is still installed on my trailer and still working as expected. No issues whatsoever.

I love the fact that etrailer sells repair items like this. DIY is my default mode (blame it on Dad) :) In this case, I probably should have been able to fix it with these parts, but I either lost patience or ran out of time. Good luck to you - I think this kit will do the job if you can take your time. Be slow to be quick.

by:

The parts I ordered arrived quickly, and I was able to repair the trailer jack. Customer service was great, I got follow up e-mails from the time I ordered until after the product arrived. I did have a few problems however.

1. The washer that goes beneath the driven gear was not included in the package. The original appeared to be in good shape, and I was able to re-use it.

2. The driven gear, drive slot was slightly smaller than the driven pin, this would not allow the gear to seat fully. After disassembly, I noticed witness marks where the driven pin hit both sides of the channel in the gear. I was able to de-burr the gear channel with a Dremel tool and fit the gear to the pin.

3. The bushings for the handle did not fit the body of the jack. Again, I re-used the original.

4. The drive gear roll pin was larger than the hole in the jack handle. The original assembly used a spring-style roll pin. I replaced this pin with another spring roll pin.

To be fair, I called the jack manufacturer and was told this was an older jack, and the parts to fix it might not be available. When the repair was complete, The jack worked as designed. The only problems that I attribute to the product are the missing washer and the clearance of the driven gear.

by:

Thanks again for the on time delivery. “I definitely will be ordering in the future “. And will share the wealth
with others . Now the boat trailer stabilizer when cranking it lifts the trailer ball to separate the vehicle
From the trailer as it should , with the new gears and pins installed purchased “thanks again”

by:

Great company, I searched all over the internet for these gears, eBay was first and double the price. These guys have the right parts and the right prices. They were priced so perfect that I bought a second set of gears as a back up so that next time my trailer jack gears break, it wont be down for more than 15 minutes. Also there shipping charges are great, there what they should be, about $3.00 to ship rather than the $20.00 plus to ship from eBay sellers. Thank You Much, Very Happy Customer.

by:

I guess I ordered the wrong kit. The gears were slightly smaller than the old ones. I needed to use my trailer so I installed anyway. I added the washer below the driven gear on top of the existing washer to take up the slack. It is working just fine like that. Will order the larger kit in case this doesn't hold up, but am happy that I got it back in use. My mistake not theirs...

by:

Received correct components to fix my trailer lift. Replaced gear kit in about 20 minutes. I would reccomend a 5 step, one page, how to disassemble re assemble page for the beginner.. To make this repair required a screw driver, a small punch, and a light tap with a hammer to move the pin out of the pinion gear... also, Need to grease the gears and the jack lift tube.

by:

The parts arrived early and the package was complete. With the online shipping information, was an attached short instructional video which was clear, short, simple, and of great help. The repair was therefore simple and short. The only addition i would add is that while the Jack screw shaft is out, put a light coating of good grease on the threads now, before it's reinstalled in the tube...add that to the video. Wish that other organizations ran their businesses as well, regarding quality and customer service as you do. Thanx.....
