Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this 24" long, 1/2" drive flex head ratchet. Now, this is a chrome-vanadium alloy-steel construction for strength and durability. You can see it has a nice polished nickel-chrome-plated finish to resist corrosion. I wanted to zoom in here on the head.
It is a push button locking flex head. You can see this button right here. If you push it, it'll allow the head to go into many different positions. It does have a 180 degree range for the head to go into. Now, a flex head has a built-in pivot to help access hard to reach fasteners. Also, what's nice about this one, if I turn this, you can hear ...
It is 108 gear teeth for precise three degree arc swing. Basically, a ratchet's tooth count will refer how many teeth are on the drive here, which will translate to how far you need to move the handle to engage the next tooth. You can see just a little bit of movement will engage the teeth. Basically, as manufacturing has progressed and the space to work on your car has shrunk, the ratchet tooth counts have gone higher. The higher the tooth count, the less the handle has to move to engage the next tooth.
That means if you have it in a tight situation, you'll be able to take things apart that you might not be able to with a ratchet that'll have a lower tooth count. Also, the handle on this, on this end you can see it has a nice double-injection molded handle, gives you a nice grip to hold onto. I want to scan out here and we're going to give you the length, we mentioned is 24". That's measured from the end of the handle to the end there, and there's your 24" measurement. But that should do it for the review on this 24" long 1/2" drive flex head ratchet.
