Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com Today we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. Now, this is going to be a direct replacement for the 2014 through 2018 Mazda 3 for the passenger side. So you can see we'll have a wiring connection to make. So that's going to give us all of our electrical functions, our heated glass, the light on the side there, and also of course our remote control capabilities, we can adjust the mirror face from inside our Mazda. So it's going to match up directly with our old mirror.

Something happened to that, got broken off or damaged or whatever the case, we'll be able to replace this with a near factory mirror. So it shouldn't be any noticeable difference. It comes with the back cover removed. So if you need to paint this to match the rest of your vehicle, you can, it's a lot easier to do that with that cover off, then whenever it's in place, that way, you don't have to worry about any over-spray getting on the rest of the housing.You can just tape this guy up, paint it to match, let it dry, and then pop it into place. You don't want to put this in place before you have painted a batch.

If you're planning to paint it because it's going to be really hard, maybe impossible to get it back off without damaging it. So definitely if you're planning on painting it, do that before you put it in place.But once it's on there, should look more or less like that. It should match up with your mirror directly. So no real change there, just matches up with that existing footprint on your Mazda. So we'll use the hardware from our old mirror.

Get that installed, thread those in there. And of course make our wiring connection as well.Now, the remote capabilities and all the other functions are only going to work if you already had those in your vehicle, if there's no wire for this to go into your vehicle, it doesn't really do you any good. So you want to make sure that you had all those functions before. The one thing that this does not support is the blind spot detection system or the BSDS system. So if you have that, this does not support that function.

So, that keep in mind there.As you can see, it has that little warning that says objects in mirror are closer than they appear. That's very typical for our passenger side mirrors. They have that convex designed to give us a wider angle of view so we can eliminate those blind spots on our passenger side.
