Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source Replacement Side Mirror.This is going to be a direct replacement for your 2008 through 2014 Dodge Avenger. This is modeled after the Avenger's original look and fit, so you're really not going to be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror. It's going to look like it came with your Avenger right from the factory, so you're not going to have to worry about your vehicle looking like it was pieced together from junkyard parts or anything like that.The backside here, they've got this loosely installed. Now, this comes disassembled so that you can paint this back portion to match your Avenger's color scheme to make it look even more integrated.

And it's very easy to then get put in place once you have that painted. Now, they have that disassembled so that you don't get any over-spray when you're painting this on the rest of your mirror housing, so a little convenience there to make sure that this is even more integrated into your Avenger's look.The mirror does have the power remote capabilities so you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle, so that's nice and convenient. It also has the heated mirror glass which is going to clear the frost and ice and help reduce fogging on those chilly mornings. Keep in mind both of those capabilities, the power adjustment and the heated mirror glass, are only going to work if your vehicle already has those capabilities, so if your original mirror could do it, this mirror will be able to do it, but it won't add those capabilities if your vehicle doesn't already have that capability.It does have OE-grade components, so it's going to be the same quality of materials as your original. The front of our glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it's going to give us a nice clear image.

It does have a convex to the lens like most your passenger side mirrors do to help reduce blind spots, so not going to have to worry about anything there. It has the breakaway design, so it's going to fold in on itself. If you we're to run into a parking post or a garage door or something like that, it's going to fold in to try and help absorb some of that shock and prevent any sort of breaking to the housing itself. But it is made of a very durable plastic housing with a textured black finish here on the side. Of course this portion is smooth, but just that light texture, just like the original, so it's going to be very durable and look very nice.And as far as our installation, it's going to be super simple.

You can see we've got our plug here for that power remote capability and the heated glass functionality, so I'm just going to use the same plug that original did, and the same footprint. So basically we just have to take the old mirror off, put this one in its place, get it plugged in and bolted down, we're ready to go. Very, very simple to do. Something that you can easily do on your own.Now, for those of you who are a little bit more skeptical, you want a little bit more reassurance that this is the mirror that you need, this is going to be a replacement for the original equipment numbers that you see on the screen there. So, if you're looking in your owner's manual or at the original mirror, you see one of those numbers, you'll know this is the part that you need.This is just the passenger side mirror, though.
