Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the passenger side factory mirror on your 1987 through 1996 Dodge Dakota. This is modeled after your Dakota's original look and fit, so you're really not going to be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror. It's going to look like it came with your Dakota right from the factory.
So you're not going to have to worry about that pieced together from a junkyard kind of look. It's going to look like it came with your Dakota, be a very integrated, seamless look. It does have the manual mirror face adjustment, so you can make sure that you're getting the angle that you need for maximum visibility. It is an OE grade product so it's going to have the same quality materials as your original.The front of the glass is plated with reflective chrome so you're going to get a nice, clear image. It does have a convex lens like most of your passenger side mirrors do to reduce the blind spots, give you a wide angle view.
It is a durable plastic housing with a nice black finish to it. And as far as getting it installed, it's going to be extremely simple. It's got the same mounting footprint as your original mirror. So basically all you have to do is take off your old mirror, put this one in its place, get it tightened down, and you're ready to go. You're not going to have to drill any new holes or worry about glooming or anything like that.
It's the exact same footprint so it's going to be very easy to get installed. Now, for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for you, this is going to be an exact replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there.So if you're looking in your Owner's Manual, you see that number, or if you're taking off your original mirror and you happen to see that number, you can trust this is the replacement that you're going to need. Now, this is just the passenger side. So if you we're to need the driver's side as well, we also sell that here at etrailer.com using the part number that you see on the screen there. And this is the driver's side only.
So if you we're to need both, you could order one of each, but otherwise we are just going to get one passenger side mirror with this part number. Really sturdy and heavy duty, had to move my tire for install but not relocate it on my 96 f250. Took me a little over an hour, had pre existing holes so I only had to drill two of them out.
I have previously bought these mirrors to replace my stock mirrors, only thing I noticed was only one hole lined up and the other had to be drilled out. And the hardware to bolt on I believe should be more chrome and a different style but otherwise that the mirrors are perfect and look amazing on the truck.
Love the mirrors, came with everything I needed to install and the main factor is that backing of the mirror is metal not plastic

The mirror is not an exact replacement. The mirror support is made of thinner aluminum, overall quality not ad good as the original. The overall size is smaller, so the mirror sits lower and closer than the original on my 1993 F150. However, the mounting bracket spacing is correct, so I didn’t have to drill holes in the truck door.

Excellent Packaging, Great fit on to a 2003 Toyota Tacoma extended cab. The OEM mirrors had no ability to collapse for fitting into narrow spaces or while parked, these bring that necessity to the truck along with almost 1/3 larger height (more mirror!). Total width seems to be the same from the OEM. One BIG note, these mirrors do not offer use of the interior manual adjustment arm as the OEMs do; so you'll have to adjust the mirror by physically manipulating the mirror surface. Still these are a good deal and function well once installed and adjusted. GOod luck finding a better option for a Gen 1 Tacoma!

It was a perfect fit for the discontinued Toyota part 87940-89147 for my 1994 Toyota pickup. It was very easy to install, maybe taking 30 minutes to take the old one off and install the new one. Thanks!
