When you’re packing for a trip, space always seems to run out. The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform gives you a large, flat 51" long x 49" wide surface that can handle everything from camping gear to watercraft accessories. With more usable space than traditional crossbars or baskets, it’s built for those who haul a mix of bulky and odd-shaped gear. Whether it’s a cooler, tent, or recovery tracks, the platform keeps things secure and easy to load for road trips and overlanding.
Wind noise can spoil the drive long before you hit the trailhead. The Pioneer Platform’s low-profile and aerodynamic build helps reduce drag and noise while you cruise at highway speeds. It even includes a detachable wind fairing that smooths airflow across the front edge. The result is a cleaner look with less noise, so you can focus on the road and enjoy the trip.
Every adventure calls for different gear, and this rack is ready for it all. Integrated channels in the planks and frame let you easily mount compatible accessories like awnings, light brackets, shovel holders, spare tire carriers, and more—all sold separately. Add the optional accessory bars (RR33AP – sold separately) to carry kayak carriers, cargo boxes, or other roof rack gear. You can even route accessory wiring internally through the perimeter of the platform for a clean setup.
When roads turn rough, you need gear that holds up. The Pioneer Platform is built from aluminum with reinforced nylon connectors and a powder-coated finish for durability and scuff resistance. It’s tested for off-road conditions in Australia and designed to handle real-world use without compromise. A torque tool set is included for straightforward installation and ongoing maintenance support.
This platform is made to go wherever your adventures take you—and keep going for years to come. With rugged construction and a 5-year limited warranty, it’s a dependable foundation for hauling cargo season after season.

Kinda expensive for what you get.
Very easy to assemble and install on existing roof rails.
Great product. Real satisfied with my purchase. Fast shipping and excellent customer service.
Product is solid, the instructions are pretty hard to figure out and Rhino Rack does not offer clear instructions for this specific model on their webpage. Over all etrailer was great to work with the only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars is lack of clear instructions by platform model.
Looks great especially with the full rails. However there are 2 little things that it was lacking; when you try to log into site to find measurements for the cross bars it is a pain and took longer than the build to find. I would recommend etrailer include the fitting specs with package or at least email a pdf of it. 2nd item- the package came with hole plugs but no instructions what or how they fit into this. I later found out as I installed this that I had to drill 4 holes to accommodate the tool to tighten the sx legs. Over all great product
This Rack fits perfectly on my 2022 Altas; I didn't have to change the rails or add anything extra.
Drove it back and forth from North to South CA with no issues, you will notice some extra noise and some drag even if you are traveling with no luggage, but that's expected.
Overall I'm very pleased with this rack; solid and sturdy and with a very rugged look. Given the weight, it might need some effort to take it off, but nothing too complicated; even one person could do it carefully.
Does not fit the Bronco Sport with a moonroof. Followed their terrible instructions to a T and spoke to Rhino Rack Customer support 3 seperate times before getting accurate underbar measurements that they fail to list on their website. One guy said "raise the factory siderails." Lmao
The roof rack is great and very useful. The assembly is simple but it was difficult to figure out because the instructions were useless. Mounting on my vehicle was difficult. It was a situation of needing to tighten it once it was in place but not having enough access to the face of the bolt to get a tool on it. Now that it’s up, it’s looking good and because it’s not that easy to fasten it back on, it’s going to stay up there.
The instructions on etrailer were way better than the ones that came from rhino. The rack is awesome seems to be well built I would highly recommend it to anybody looking at doing any over-landing or tent roof camping
Very nice rack. It holds well and not too noisy when on the highway. I did drill a couple holes in the rack to hold my roof top tent down. Also like how many accessories are available for the Pioneer Platform Rack.
Loving my new Ford Bronco Sport Badlands model and the Pioneer Platform rack! With the Bronco Sport being so new, locating quality accessories was a bit of a challenge. I was excited to see Rhino Rack had the Pioneer Platform rack system I was looking for to start my build! Vicki at etrailer was super helpful in finding the parts, as listed on the Rhino Rack website, to make up the system. The etrailer site had not been updated to include the compatibility with the Pioneer System yet for the Bronco Sport. The parts were actually in stock and ready to ship! I’m giving the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform 5 stars for ease of assembly and product quality. Assembly and install took about 3 hours, with several fore/aft adjustment to allow for complete operation and clearance for the Bronco Sports moonroof. This rack is the foundation for the complete “overland” conversion to come!
