After you cut the hole in your van wall for a half-slider bunk window, the raw edge around the opening is still visible. This interior trim covers that edge so youre not looking at exposed metal or brushing against it as you move around.
When you install a half-slider bunk window, the raw cut edge around the opening is still visible. That edge can chip over time. Even if it's painted, it's still thinner and more exposed than the surrounding panel. The cut edge can also feel sharp or uneven. Covering it reduces the chance of your hand or shirt catching on that exposed metal as you move around.
The trim mounts to the inside of your van wall around the window cutout, but you can secure it a few different ways. You can fasten it with self-tapping screws to pull it tight against the wall. You can glue it in place if you dont want visible screw heads around the window. If your window uses bolts that pass through the wall, the trim can sit under that same hardware so its clamped in place when the window is tightened, leaving a smooth, finished edge instead of rough, exposed metal.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the interior window trim for Van Windows Direct. If you've installed one of their half slider bunk windows inside your van, you've already done the hard part of cutting that opening and getting the window in place. But when you come inside, you can still feel left looking at that raw cut edge, you know, around the window where you cut the metal. And that's exactly where this trim ring is designed to come in and play.
So it's going to install around the inside of your window opening. I know I'm sitting here pretty close, but I want you to get a good look at this lip and everything. And this is going to protect that cut edge. It's going to give us some protection from chips and scratches over time. It's going to help to where your hand can't hit that metal, bedding, anything like that, mattresses.
Anything you have bumped up against there, it's going to protect you from them sharp edges. It does come with self-tappers that are black as well. So they're going to match the trim ring and everything as well. And again, this is a black aluminum. So it's lightweight, but it is designed to resist fading and cracking.
And again, you can secure with the self-tapping screws, you can use adhesive. It's up to you what you want to do as far as the installation. Well, folks, that's going to wrap up our quick look together at this interior window trim for Van Windows Direct half slider bunk windows. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
