I received the key on the day I expected it based on the shipping method I choose. I was taking my minivan to the junk yard, it was still driveable but the transmission was going. The Thule racks had been on the car for gosh 10 years or more... and yes I had missplaced the key to unlock them mounting mechanism. I felt I could use the Thule rack on another car and did not want to lose them racks to the junk yard... The key arrived and with some penetrating oil I was able to unlock and release the mounting mechanism. Work perfectly... I was actually not sure the key worked, but one of the four locks turned more easily, at which pont I knew the others were more frooze up from lack of use and corrosion.
