Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED Combo Pod Lights with Brackets. These three-inch LED combo pod lights are gonna be great for helping you see near or far. And these are gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. So as you can see, I have this light already connected to my power source, and I also have the bracket installed on this light just to show you what this is going to look like when you have the bracket on the light.

So, you are going to receive hardware to install the light into the bracket. And what's nice about using the bracket is you're gonna be able to easily adjust the angle of the light, and then once you have that angle set to where you want it, you're just going to tighten down the hardware on either side of the bracket and that will hold that angle in place. You're also going to receive hardware to install the bracket virtually anywhere on your vehicle. So, this is going to be a relatively easy install. And here's the bracket that's not installed.

It's constructed of durable aluminum, so you're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or anything like that. Now, as you can see, my light is on. I'm trying not to cross my wires back here. Lemme see if I can get a better hold here with this alligator clip. I am gonna shut my studio lights off here and back out just so you can get an idea of how bright this light is going to be in low light or dark conditions.

I think a better demonstration though is gonna be to shine this light on the wall behind me, so you can take a look at that beam pattern. So, this combo beam pattern is a mix between a driving beam and a flood beam. So, this light's gonna be really great just for general all around use. That light color, the light rather has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin. So, that cool white color is gonna match most of your factory LEDs.

And this really does have a pristine, crisp color, so it's gonna really add to your visibility. Now, this does have a raw lumen rating of 5,796 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3,000 lumens. And even with my bright studio lights on, you can still see just how bright this light is. Now, these lights do have a peak beam intensity of 35,100 candela. Now, in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. Before a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. The power draw is gonna be 2.7 amps. And these lights are designed with the newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for Total Internal Reflection. So, unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses which aren't too efficient at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom design large TIR optic actually collects all of the light, and then reflects it back to where you need it. So, this is going to be very efficient as it focuses all that light forward. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly onto the surface of this lens. So, what that means for you is that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you can lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So, by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency rather than lose it. Now, these lights do include the industry standard integrated Deutsche style connector. So I do have, on this light that's connected to my power source, I do have the pigtail with the Deutsche connector plugged into the back of the light. And then you'll just wire that up. While we're looking at the back of the light, I wanted to show you that these lights do have a breather patch that's gonna prevent any moisture buildup. And then, these heat sinks are gonna do a great job of dissipating that heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights. Now, these lights have been built with high intensity LED chips. They do feature a durable, powder-coated aluminum construction. (metal clanging) That heavy duty construction is going to withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion and vibration. And testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And an interesting fact to mention, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Let's go over some measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 3 1/4 inches. That's gonna be the same for the height. But then when you add the bracket, that's obviously gonna to add some height. So, measuring from the top of the light to the bottom of our bracket, we're sitting pretty close to 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the depth from the front of our light to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting pretty close to 2 3/8ths inches deep. Now, these lights do draw high current and they do require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So, if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is important that you use wiring that's 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation.
