Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the K-Source Replacement Side Mirror-KS70130T

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this K Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the driver's side factory mirror on your 2007 through 2013 Toyota Tundra. This is modeled after your Toyota's original look and fit, so you really shouldn't be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror. Should look like it came with your Tundra right from the factory, so you don't have to worry about that pieced together from the junkyard sort of look. This is going to give you a nice, fully complete look for your Tundra again.

Because it is modeled after that same original mirror, it's gonna have the same footprint, so you're not gonna have to do any drilling to get this mounted in place. It's going to use the same mounting points as your factory mirror, and it's going to use that same plug as your original, so you can get your electrical wiring plugged in very easily. And that's going to give you the power remote capability that you're used to with the other mirror, so you can adjust the mirror face position with those factory power controls inside your vehicle. This is also going to have the heated mirror glass that's gonna clear frost and ice and help reduce fogging. But keep in mind that those, the power remote capability and the heated mirror glass are only gonna work if your Tundra already had those capabilities.

It's not going to add those functions to a vehicle that wasn't able to do that before. This is an OE grade product, so it is gonna be good quality materials. The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it is gonna give you a nice clear image. It is a flat lens like most driver's side mirrors, so it is going to give you a true representation of the object size behind you so you can check before you change lanes or back up, that sort of thing. It does have the breakaway design, so if you we're to run into the side of your garage or a parking post or something like that, it's going to fold in on itself to help absorb some of that impact and deter the housing from breaking.

But it is a nice durable plastic housing with this textured black finish so that it will not only integrate well but hold up well for you. And for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for you, this is going to be a replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there. And so if you're going through your owner's manual or when you're taking off the original mirror, if you see that number anywhere. you can trust this is gonna be exactly what you need. And this is just the driver's side, but we also have the passenger side available.
