When your RV needs a bike rack, cargo carrier, or spare tire mount and the factory hitch is in use, the BuddyHitch clamps to a 2-1/2" hitch crossbar to add a 2" receiver. Its anti-rattle clamp helps reduce shake so accessories stay secure.
When a bike rack, cargo carrier, spare tire carrier, or campsite accessory needs its own spot on your trailer setup, the BuddyHitch clamps to a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" square hitch crossbar and gives you an additional 2" receiver. You can place the accessory off-center on the crossbar instead of being locked into the middle, which helps work around rear-mounted gear and gives your setup another usable mounting point.
If you're trying to add a receiver without cutting into your trailer setup, this hitch uses a clamp-on mount rather than requiring drilling. Once it's positioned on the 2-1/2" square crossbar and tightened down, your trailer gets another accessory location while the original structure remains unmodified.
Rear RV and trailer accessories can move around a lot once the road starts bouncing them, especially with racks and carriers hanging behind the trailer. The BuddyHitch includes an anti-rattle clamp that tightens against the accessory shank inside the 2" receiver, helping reduce shake and movement so the mounted accessory sits with less rattling during travel.
Clearance around spare tires, trailer bodies, and other rear-mounted parts can decide whether an accessory is usable at all. This receiver extends 7-3/4" from the hitch crossbar, giving your mounted accessory a defined position behind the crossbar so you can check the space around nearby equipment before loading up.
Rather than using a simple weight rating, the BuddyHitch is rated for 500 lb-ft of torque measured from the crossbar. To determine whether an accessory is within the rating, multiply the load weight by its distance from the crossbar. This accounts for the additional leverage created by accessories that extend farther behind the trailer. For example, a 100-lb cargo carrier with its load centered two feet behind the crossbar creates 200 lb-ft of force (100 x 2 = 200 lb-ft). The same 100-lb load positioned five feet behind the crossbar creates 500 lb-ft of force (100 x 5 = 500 lb-ft), reaching the receiver's rating even though the weight itself hasn't changed.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Mount-n-Lock ShakeStopper BuddyHitch Clamping Hitch. Now, this is an add-on piece for your hitch crossbar that's gonna give you an extra two-inch receiver to mount accessories. This is going to clamp directly onto your 2 1/2-inch by 2 1/2-inch square crossbar, so you don't have to drill or permanently modify anything. This is just going to tighten into place. What's also nice is this is going to let you mount accessories off to the side instead of just in the center, as you can see there on that image that I have for you on your screen.
So, that's gonna be really useful if you're trying to carry multiple items at once or you need better access to the back of your vehicle. Now, this is rated for up to 500 pound feet measured from your crossbar, so this is gonna be pretty solid for most hitch-mounted gear. But as you can see on the label here, this is not intended for towing, so this is going to be just for accessories only. One of the nice things about this is the anti-rattle design. Once it's clamped down, it's gonna help reduce shaking and movement, which is gonna be especially helpful if you're carrying something like a bike rack or cargo carrier.
Has a powder-coated finish, so it's gonna be built to resist rust and wear over time. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
