If your vehicle's rear window keeps closing while you're unloading cargo, it's time to change your strut. Replace it with this custom fit gas strut and make your window operate like new again. Quick, tool-free installation.

Note: Always replace your struts in pairs, where applicable. Most rear windows have a strut on each side. Failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge.
Gas Strut with Exceptional Stability
Most gas struts consist of a tube filled with pressurized nitrogen gas, a piston, and rod. The Atlas Lift strut, however, has a dynamic damping groove inside the tube that regulates gas movement across the piston. This ensures your window stays open when you want it open and shuts slowly without bouncing or slamming. Lastly, in contrast to struts that only have gas in the chamber, a few drops of oil have been mixed in to help seal the piston and lubricate the rod. This allows your window to move more smoothly as the rod travels in and out of the tube.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at a custom fit replacement gas strut for your rear window. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. It fits '03 to '08 Pontiac Vibe, and this is gonna replace one, quantity one, of a damaged or worn out gas strut on that vehicle's rear window. Now, they have built-in dampening grooves inside the tube here. That's gonna help prevent bouncing and also give you a smooth operation, no matter what the temperature is outside.
The way you measure these is from ball socket hole to ball socket hole, and I got 18 and 7/8th inches on center. And again, this is a quick, tool-free installation. You literally just kind of pop these onto the ball on the window location whenever you're replacing these. And I highly recommend replacing these in pairs, just because if one's worn out the other one's probably not too far behind. Now that being said, if one of these got bent or something and the vehicle's fairly new, you might be okay with just replacing one, but it's always a good idea to replace them in pairs.
This also has some internal wiper technology that's gonna help prevent sticking and also reduce friction by lubricating the rod with oil as it compresses and contracts back out. That's gonna wrap up our quick look together at this replacement rear window gas strut. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
The right part on time, works great.
Took a while to get it seems fine

Quality item, fit exactly, decent ship time to USVI.
I was very pleased with my order from etrailer, although not at first…the box my shipment was in was torn open in transit and the contents taken…I immediately called etrailer and spoke with Nichole…she took care of everything, and within a few days I had my order in hand…Thanks Nichole, and etrailer!
Exact match and work as good as new. Only downside was trying to figure out how to get them on as there were no instructions (I'm not the most mechanically inclined person).
