Video Transcript for All About the Center Section for Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the center section for the Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch. Has a 30,000 pound weight capacity. Now this heavy duty hitch head will pair with a custom mounting kit to create a gooseneck trailer hitch. Now the custom mounting kits, we do sell separately on our website. What you'll need to do is go on our website, go into the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show if there's a custom mounting kit for your application that you can attach to center section two to get you a complete Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch.

Yeah, so when this is installed with the custom mounting kit, gives you complete truck bed access while you're not towing, and you can easily remove the ball from the hitch for storage. The popping ball right here that's included fits securely in the hitch, very easy to insert and remove. And just to show you how to do that, I'm just gonna zoom in here so you get a closer view, but there's this lever, this integrated lever on the top of the ball. If you just pull up, turn it 90 degrees, that'll release the ball bearings, and you can pull your gooseneck ball right out, just like that. You can see here's where the ball bearings are, and when you turn that, you'll notice how they pop out and lock into place.

And then if you're not gonna be towing, they include this rubber cover that'll fit over there, keep any dirt or grime from getting into that hole. And then when you go to tow, take out your rubber cover. You do have to open this with it in the lock position. You can see it won't go down in there, but if you release, pull up the lever to release the balls, then you can drop it right in. When you turn this, drops in, locks it, and you're all ready to tow.

What's nice with this, you'll notice it gives you the round sleeve and a round shank. Provides a lot tighter fit than the square design. Helps reduce rattle and boost durability. And it, also, you'll be able to see, let me drop the ball back into place. Lock it just like that.

It does come with the spring loaded safety chain hookups. You do need to install them, but you can see they're spring loaded, so they lay flat. And when you go to hook up your safety chains, pull up, put your hook through there, do the same over here, and it'll hold them in place. The chrome plate at hitch ball does resist rust and corrosion. The center section itself is a black powder coated steel construction to resist corrosion. As we mentioned, the gross towing weight capacity on this is 30,000 pounds. Vertical load limit of 7,500 pounds. And the hitch ball size is a standard gooseneck diameter of 2 and 5/16 inches. But again, just to show you right now, you're hooked up, ready to tow. If you're done towing, pull up on the lever, remove the ball, put your cover in place, and you're all ready to go. And when you're ready to tow again, make sure this is in the open position, drop it into place, release it, it'll lock in, and you're all ready to go. But that should do it for the review on this center section for the Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch.
