Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Pullrite OEX Super Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now this hitch has been designed to fit your 2013 and newer RAM 2500 and 3500 with a factory installed towing prep package. On custom fit parts such as this hitch, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you.

Now this fifth wheel hitch is going to mount into your RAM's truck bed, so you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. This is going to work with your factory installed fifth wheel towing prep package from RAM. And as you might know, Pullrite's OEX line of hitches are uniquely designed to give you more options. If you prefer a different coupling method down the road, this is going to give you the ability to swap out this head without the cost of buying a whole new hitch. For instance, you could swap out this included head for the Pullrite SuperLite Head that you see there on your screen, giving you an upgraded towing experience without investing in an all new hitch.

And this head is going to be easily removable by just removing the pin and clip, that I don't think you're gonna be able to see from that angle. But you could just remove the pin and clip here from the center on the side, and this is going to allow you to remove this head. And then if you swap out the hitch plates here, you could put in that SuperLite head instead. So you do have some flexibility here without having to buy a completely new hitch. Now this hitch is made here in the USA of high quality American steel.

It is SAEJ 2638 tested. And this has a gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds, and a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. And this is one of the lightest 25K hitches on the market today. These OEX hitches are relatively lightweight with two thirds the amount of lifting weight compared to similar brands that are on the market. Now this does feature a self-locking hitch plate that's going to make it very easy to hook this up.

The jaw is going to close, and the handle is going to lock automatically once the kingpin is in place. And let me go ahead and give you a brief demonstration of that. So I have an example of a kingpin here. So I'm just going to slide this into place. And as you can see, that is going to lock securely. The precisely laser cut jaws or, or jaw rather, is going to wrap around this kingpin and cradle the trailer's kingpin to keep it very secure. And this has a very tight, secure fit around that kingpin. So what that means for you is less rattle, and it's going to offer more security than the slide bar jaw options, for instance. This does feature a dual articulating head that's going to move in all four directions for easier hookup on uneven ground, and it's also gonna give you a smoother ride. And then as you can see here, this extended handle is going to keep you out of the bed of your truck when you're ready to uncouple. So let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is going to be to uncouple. So I pull the handle out, and then the kingpin comes right out. So very easy to use and a very smooth operation as well. Now this uniquely designed interchangeable coupler assembly is going to give you enough rear word offset to be the second best solution for short bed trucks. The best being, of course, slider hitches. But this has the potential of giving you a full four inches additional cab clearance when you rotate the hitch plates to change the positioning. So you don't really have a clear view of the hitch plates that's underneath this head. But if you are looking for that additional clearance, you would just remove this head, and then rotate the hitch plates underneath the head. And then that is going to push this head out towards the tailgate of your truck. So you rotate the tail plates, the hitch plates rather, and then you're going to reinsert this head, and this is going to give you that four inches of additional clearance from your cab. So that is a nice feature that this does have. This also has a vertical height adjustment and you're gonna be able to, you get three positions of height adjustment, from 16 and a quarter inches, all the way up to 16. I'm sorry, let me start that over again. From 16 and three quarters inches, let's try that one more time. 16 and a quarter inches, all the way up to 18 and three quarters inches is what I'm trying to say. That's going to allow you to make your fifth wheel as level as possible with your tow vehicle. So again, from 16 and a quarter, all the way up to 18 and three quarters inches. Now another thing that I really like about this system is this does not require any adapters, rails, or tools to install or remove in and out of the bed of your truck. And it is going to install and remove quickly and easily. There's not gonna be any binding, unlike OE puck systems. This is going to drop into the four receiver pucks in the bed of your truck that are built into the factory under bed rails, and then secure it in place with these removable top mounted mounting posts. Let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is going to be with this mounting post. So I'm just going to unhook the included bail pin, and then you can rotate these mounting posts out and actually remove it. So what I would recommend is removing the mounting posts, and then once you have this in the bed of your truck, you can actually scoot this or drag this to the pucks in the bed of your truck. And you're not gonna have to worry about these mounting posts scratching up the bed of your truck, because they're not in place, they're removed. But then once you have these holes over the pucks in the bed of your truck, then you can just replace the mounting posts and then rotate them. And then that's going to secure those posts into the puck system of the bed of your truck. I want to give you a view underneath, just to show you what's going on when you rotate this. So you can see these are gonna be able to be easily removed, and when you pop it into the place, you're just going to rotate it. And then going back overhead here, you'll just replace the bail pin, and then it will be nice and secure. And what's nice about this is this is not a permanent install. So when you're done towing and you need to start hauling, this will completely come out of the bed of the truck, opening up the bed of your truck to allow you that room once again to go back to hauling things. Now if you're looking for a lightweight option, a lightweight 25K fifth wheel hitch that's going to simply drop into your RAM's factory puck system and then give you the option to consider additional coupling methods sometime down the road, this is going to be a great option to consider from Pullrite.
