Hello, neighbor. This is Curt at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the WeatherTech HP custom floor mats in the second row of our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Now, if you have any experience with the WeatherTech HP floor mats, please share them in the comments below. We love to hear your stories and share them with other neighbors so they can make the best decisions for themselves. Now let's take a look at these floor mats. Now, these WeatherTech HP custom floor mats are one-piece design.
They're rubberized thermoplastic and do a really good job of staying semi-rigid and keeping their shape. They're made with having these deep channels here, which do a really good job of filtering any dirt, debris, or water that comes off of your shoes or boots and channels them up and out of the way. And they're raised enough to keep the bottom of your shoes for the most part off of it. So any of that dirt and debris just doesn't end up getting right back on them. They're high wall design, so any of that, you won't have to worry about any spillover onto your factory carpet.
And really, they are gonna have a really good snug fit as we're about to show you in a moment. But first, I just want to do a comparison with the factory floor mats in the second row just so you can see how much more coverage you're going to get. So coverage-wise, as far as the floor area, it's gonna be roughly the same. Where they're really gonna differentiate is having this higher wall here to protect, again, any of that from spilling over either onto the sidewall carpet or the carpet underneath it itself. Now let's take a look and see how they fit in that second row.
As we put this in, notice, again, it's gonna have really a perfect fit and shape around here. And one of the things about WeatherTech that I really like is that once you get these anchor points snapped down, they really do stay in place. Very, very solid. We got the coverage up against the walls, the carpeted walls. This is, again, gonna help with a lot of spillover.
It's gonna channel it right down here, and that should make for a pretty easy cleanup if all that dirt and debris ends up going into one spot. Now, for all of the great things about these custom floor mats, the one thing that I wish they would've done is either come up with a detachable piece or made the second row one unit so that you could get some coverage over this area here. Reason for that is we have some cup holders right here, so you know there's gonna be some spills in this area and everything else. The good news is, though, if there is any spills from over the side here, these floor mats are gonna do a great job of channeling any of that liquid off and making for a very easy cleanup. So these really are a high-quality custom floor mat, and WeatherTech has been a well renowned name in this industry for a very, very long time. So there's a lot of people that have had great experiences with these floor mats. So overall, I think they're a really, really good fit in the second row. I do wish there was some coverage in front of that cup holder. But that aside, I think this is a great option for your 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. This is Curt at etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
