This manifold-back exhaust system improves engine performance and durability by boosting horsepower and torque. Its technologically advanced, Mandrel bent tubing and straight-through muffler allow the exhaust to flow more freely through the system.

Features:

  • Improves engine performance by increasing horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decreasing exhaust gas temperature
    • Mandrel bent tubes allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter through every curve
      • Unrestricted airflow decreases back pressure ("exhaust turbulence")
    • Straight-through muffler has a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through, end to end
      • Layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts
      • Contains no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow
  • Tru-X crossover pipe is designed to balance airflow for dual exhaust systems and to help boost horsepower
  • Signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside the vehicle
  • All materials made with 100% stainless steel
  • Clamps and hangers included for installation
  • Lifetime warranty

Specs:

  • Tubing diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Muffler dimensions: 4" tall x 9" wide x 14" long
  • Tailpipe diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Tip diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Number of tips included: 2
  • Dual exhaust system
  • Split rear exit position

This gas system is designed to replace the entire OEM exhaust system from the manifold or header back to the tailpipe on models from the 1960s and 1970s. Tru-X crossover pipes balance airflow for these dual exhaust systems and help to boost horsepower. MagnaFlow systems have Mandrel bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter throughout every curve. This curvature leads to decreased back pressure.

MagnaFlow mufflers have a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through the muffler, end to end, with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts.

Together, the Mandrel bent tubes and straight-through muffler increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decrease exhaust gas temperature. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside vehicles. All materials are made with 100 percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installation. It includes a lifetime warranty.

  • Will the MagnaFlow Cat-Back Exhaust System Install on a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible
I spoke with my contact at Magnaflow and he told me that the Cat-Back Exhaust System, # MF15815, will fit the convertible model of the 1966 Ford Mustang with the 4.7L V8, but a slight modification will be necessary for the installation. The convertible models have an extra support bracket in the rear that may contact the exhaust pipes or muffler. When installing this system on a convertible model, you will need to install a spacer between the support bracket and the exhaust system to prevent...

  • How do the Exhaust Hangers of the Magnaflow Catback System # MF15815 for a 1964 Ford Mustang Install
In some applications there will have to be some modifications to get the exhaust hangers to work. Since you have a different style hanger you will need to remove them or work around them and install the hangers that come with this kit. The hanger bracket should have holes it that will allow you to attach it to the body or frame of your vehicle. If not, then you could drill holes through the brackets or have them welded in. Check out step 2 of the installation instructions that I attached...

  • Is MagnaFlow Exhaust Too Noisy for a 1964 to 1968 Ford Mustang with 4.7 Liter V8
MagnaFlow systems are not a loud grating type of system. They are more of a mellow throaty sound, deep and growling. I have a system installed on my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP and you can give it a listen by checking the link provided. I have also provided a link to other MagnaFlow systems we have installed to give you a better idea of the sound they have. Another benefit is the stainless steel construction that resists corrosion and the lifetime warranty. I think you will be pleased...
