Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater - Cartridge Style - 120V - 400 Watts
Easy to install using the instructions on the eTrailer site, and they kept the vans rolling at -29 degrees F this winter.
Installation was easy, however, it did not come with a mounting screw. I had to buy a 6mm SS machine screw at Lowes. Waiting for a cold morning to see how well it works.

Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater - Frost Plug Style - 120V - 600 Watts - 35 mm
Bought this to replace the factory installed one. Item was easy to install. Shipping and overall online experience from etrailer was top notch.
Works great, no issues with the product but the cord is short for my Ram since the original connection site is near the back of the engine block. I have to open my hood to plug it in which isn't a hude deal but an extra 8-12" of length would have been nice.

Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater - Cartridge Style - 120V - 400 Watts
2014 Dodge Ram 5.7L uses Kat’s 11816 cartridge heater. Perfect fit. Must remove the two starter bolts and slide it out of the way. Don’t disconnect starter wires. Just slide starter out of the way. Easily done with truck on ramps. Clean out hole. Find a correct size retaining screw. Not sure what size or If hole is threaded. Too much rust. Just be able to jam some screw in there to retain the cartridge, until silicone dries. Smear about an inch wide layer of high temp silicone around the base of the cartridge. Insert cartridge, twist back and forth to spread silicone, and hold in place with retaining screw. Route wire straight forward. I used 1 1/8” spade bit to drill a hole in black plastic in bumper, but my bumper was already messed up, so I didn’t care much. Plug hangs out grill about 3”. Use zip ties to secure cord to square tubing frame post inside bumper.
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. The heater element was easy to install. It took a while to find the hole in the engine block (behind the starter motor) but it was a perfect fit. The engine oil is warm enough in a couple of hours for easy starting in cold weather.

Kat's Heaters Lower Radiator Hose Heater w/ 270 F Thermostat - 1-1/2" Hose - 600W
It’s working Ok but I think the block heater would have been better, as it heats a little but I guess with the car outside and being so cold out it really can’t get that warm being in the lower radiator hose instead of the engine block itself. But at the time I installed it was middle of winter and did’nt have the time or weather to install one in the block instead as it would have been a project to do it that way .Maybe in the warmer weather I will switch to the block heater instead.
Best way to get fast starts on those frosty winter mornings.
