The hitch itself is firm and sturdy but we had to modify it right out of the box. The bolts that hold the shaft in place were too long and did not fit in the opening of our truck bed. We also had to buy a new gooseneck ball because the ball was too low for the sleeve to reach all the way down the ball. So the ball we had to buy had a one inch tall shaft which made it just barely tall enough to work. As I mentioned, the hitch is great but the two modifications and hours of trying to figure it out and ordering new parts to make it work was a massive bummer. The two truck bed brands were Knapheide and EBY.

Very nice hitch. Easy to install and the height adjustment makes it easy to adjust the height of the trailer.

Outstanding product! Exactly what I was needing. Fits perfectly under my BackFlip Truck bed cover. Pulled a 38' footer with no problems behind a 2016 Ram 2500 with a B&W Turnaball gooseneck hitch. Thanks Ya'll!

Great replacement for the Curt Turning Point pin box! Easy to install and took a couple hours since I did it by myself. I had to purchase new 5/8” locknuts as the originals from the Curt install needed replacing. I also had to buy (4) 5/8” nuts from Tractor Supply since the Curt install had nuts welded on the front 4 bolt locations. I used the Curt 5/8” bolts and flat washers since they did not need replacing. I haven’t had a chance to get the trailer on the road yet, but see no reason why it will not pull nicely with the Gen Y gooseneck. It will be pulled with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Duramax and 10 speed Allison transmission.

The ride while pulling our trailer is much better. While there is still some bucking, the Gen Y hitch is much smoother. The install was fairly easy as well.

If you are towing as a gooseneck- the Gen Y is absolutely the best choice! You get what you pay for - an extremely well designed and engineered hit hitch that has exceeded my expectations.
