SportRack Pathway Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
I think this is a simple and efficient rack, but it is not for everyone. Because it is a frame clamp design, you should not mount Carbon Fiber frames or thin walled aluminum frames for risk of frame damage. Thich aluminum and steel frames should not have a problem. My heavy fat bike fits just fine if it's the only bike on the rack. 2 regular mountain bikes will fit in opposite directions. This rack will never realistically hold 3 mountain bikes. (maybe 3 road bikes) I removed one of the clamps, easy to do, makes a cleaner setup. Bikes with small triangles (smaller frames and certain full suspension) will be difficult to mount due to the locking/clamping mechanism size trying to fit through the frame and made worse with bottle holders. I changed out the bolts at the hitch side to make it a rigid rack. There is no need for me to pivot this rack and now has one less thing to go wrong. The threaded locking bolt makes this hitch rock solid with no clunking noises while transporting. The BIG advantage of this rack is storage. It fits behind my seat and is invisible to the passing eye and can be installed or removed in a few seconds.
After a year of owning this bike rack, I must report that I have no problems with it to date. All works as advertised. I have a Hyundai Ioniq and it was difficult to mount any rack, and I had to go with the 1 1/4"hitch. It's been great so far, steady and not shaking on the highway. Mostly use 2 bikes, although a couple times I have used 3.
What our customers are saying:
"I ordered a trailer hitch and a bike rack carrier the order was shipped with in three days. To put the hitch on only took about 30 mins. only had to drill two 1/2 holes. fit like a glove."
