Most Popular Removable Draw Bars for 2008 Toyota Sienna

Getting everything to line up was a challenge but I got it done. It looks ok on the car, you wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it.

I used to tow our dinghy, a cherry 1997 Miata, with a car dolly; finally realized it was a case of overkill. The dolly is over half the weight of the car and wider than the motor home! On our last expedition to the Canadian Rockies, I got to talking with a fellow camper who told me how cool and easy it was to tow his dinghy with tow bars. Now, for the tow bar conversion: Removing the Miata's fascia, radiator air scoop and bottom engine cover is not difficult, as the fasteners are relatively easy to get to. After removing (and discarding) the two tie-down loops and discarding the four screws holding the front anti-sway bar, the installation of the base plates is straight-forward (it fits into those holes - who knew?). The fit of the kit to the car's frame is precise, with plenty of adjustment space, if needed. The only fabrication required is removal of some material from the air scoop where it comes into contact with the installed base plates. Reinstalling the fascia, I "shoe-horned" it over the base plate, with the help of silicon spray. Fortunately, the fascia is very flexible. Unless you look for them, the base plate receivers are not a prominent feature of the front end.

Blue Ox could use some product improvement. Photos in the instructions were nearly impossible to see. Why not post color instructions online?. Several parts listed in instructions were missing. Apparently blue Ox doesn't realize that not every model is the same. For instance, I have a factory oil cooler to deal with and my frame had no holes where the instructions say they are. Why not include a template for drilling holes? That would make installation so much easier. Installation was not easy. As usual though, etrailer is awesome. Great Customer service.

Looks very good quality and I like the way it’s mounted in there where the tow hooks were that way it’s inconspicuous.

The removable arms were an absolute pain to install. That might have been different if I had a better drill, but I had to drill holes in extremely thick metal to attach these arms and it took me awhile just to get the holes drilled. I went through bits and oil for hours to get the holes drilled, but I also didn't have the money to spend on buying specific additional tools for the project. The arms work great. Very nice to be able to remove the arms when you're not using them and then you can add them in about 5 seconds each if you need to use them. I installed them on a 2018 F-150 Roush.

Works much better than y old crossbar Roadmaster base plate. Does not hang down as far and easier to install the arms.

A small tube of Locktite red should be included for the price. Otherwise installation was easy. Lining the holes up on one side took some effort but that is likely an issue with the vehicle not the base plate.

5 hours into install. Not the kits problem as I am using a ratchet, don't have an impact wrench. Biggest problem I had was nuts that went up into the frame. Very frustrating. Not sure why couldn't use a long bolt and go straight through to the hole on the other side. Instructions for the cut on the plastic skid plate are a little vague as is the video. All in all, pretty smooth install.

The install went well. Product is very sturdy and has held up well with no issues. I tow my Wrangler regularly behind my motorhome. I would recommend this product to friends.

Installation was fairly straightforward, kudos to e-trailer for the videos, looks great, everyone says it looks factory installed, love the low profile base plate without the bar, also love that the hook ups are detachable and can be removed when not towing, gives it an overall cleaner look. Installed it right at the campground without issues, took about 3 hours to install, with our rubicon only had to widen the top holes as the second set of holes were already the size of the bolts needed. This is the 3rd base blare we have installed and they get easier each time.

Base plates got perfect! Cutting holes through plastic air shield a little tedious but it worked out fine.

The Roadmaster direct connect base was a perfect fit for my 2013 focus S to flat tow. We had it installed in about 3 hrs following the complete direction and pictures. I highly recommend using etrailer.

I purchased this baseplate system for a 2014 Ford Focus. Just finished installing it. Excellent instructions and online video. Make sure you watch it and follow the paper instructions. Let me inform anyone attempting this on your own it is a process. You need to remove the entire front fascia and headlights. The undercarriage plastic air dams also have to come off. This is not difficult if you are a decent mechanic/collision person. If you plan on tackling this yourself allow 3-5 hours if you are a capable individual. If not, take it to a shop you trust. I personally have a shop and all the jacks and tools required. It took me approximately 4-1/2 hours start to finish. But I had a/c, lights, music and my dog kReaping me company. The most frustrating part was drilling the two access hole in the frame. Not sure what that metal alloy is but a dulled my drills and ruined a perfectly good high end hole saw. I ended up using a pnuematic cut off Grinder. I am very satisfied with the end result. Take your time. Don’t let yourself get aggravated and the install should go smooth.
