Video Transcript for Kuat Piston ION E-Bike Platform Rack License Plate Mount Spec Review

Hi, everyone. I'm Evangeline here at Etrailer. Today we have the license plate mount for the Kuat Piston ION. This is gonna be an add-on that a lot of people look into for their bike rack, because once you get this all loaded up, oftentimes you might be covering your license plate and driving through areas that require visibility of your license plate. So this is gonna be a great way to relocate that plate so it is a lot more visible. This is designed specifically for the ION version within the Piston series, so just double check if that's the bike rack you have 'cause this will be the mount for it.

Just like your bike rack, this is gonna be a heavy duty bracket, but also fits seamlessly onto the rack. It has a hinge in it and that way you can pivot it out depending on what position your bike rack is in. When you're in the bikes loaded up position, you'll just pivot this out so that your license plate is visible. There is a light on this rack, however, it does require you installing the light bar mount in addition to this license plate bracket in order to have power for that light. This is what that light would look like though if you do have that light bar installed and plugged in, just a steady light over your license plates.

No matter what your vehicle or your bike rack lights are doing, this is just gonna be a steady light over there, giving you visibility ideally especially at night. This is what that mount will look like when your bike rack is in the folded up position. All in all, this is definitely gonna be a bracket that's very useful when you have your Piston ION and you're just driving through places where you do need that extra visibility of your license plate.
