When you’re logging miles behind the motorhome, you want your setup solid and dependable. This Blue Ox base plate kit bolts directly to the chassis with included mounting hardware—no welding required. Its sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly to help protect your suspension from stress. The durable steel construction is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion, ready to handle long hauls without worry.
Even when you’re not towing, this setup blends in nicely. The low-profile reinforcements give your front end a streamlined appearance, and the crossbar support beam sits neatly with the bumper for a tidy, balanced look. It’s functional hardware that doesn’t distract from the vehicle’s design while still giving you reliable attachment points when you need them.
This kit is made for a simple bolt-on install using the provided hardware. The design lines up to existing chassis points so you can get a tight, secure fit without cutting or fabricating. Once it’s mounted, the fixed draw bars provide solid connection points ready for towing duty—just hook up and go with confidence.
Already have a tow bar system in place? The sturdy lugs on this base plate pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure link. If you’re running another brand, adapters make it easy to integrate—use RM-031 or RM-031-5 for Roadmaster tow bars or DM9523041 for Demco setups (sold separately). That flexibility helps you keep using gear you already trust.
With 24" between brackets and a bracket height of 13", this kit gives you precise measurements to plan the rest of your towing setup around. It’s covered by a 3-year warranty, adding peace of mind that this base plate is built to stay strong through years of travel.

Glad the install went smoothly, Grant! Even with those weird handle nuts (which I agree are kind of odd). What's the first trip you have planned? And I will let Alex know what you said as well! : )

it still looks nice and working as it should. i made it also double as a base to bolt up my winch. the bonus thing is when i need to tow it i can undo 4 bolts and take my winch off. i think you guys at e-trailer should consider making something like this as a option. i have pictures of it installed but how do i send them to you?

Thanks for your review, Richard! It sounds like this was a fairly involved installation, but we're glad to hear everything came together successfully in the end. We appreciate you sharing the details of your process, especially the tips about the tight frame rail clearance and drilling challenges, as those insights may help other RV owners tackling the same project. Thanks for including the photo as well. Your finished installation looks great! Now that it's installed and you're moving on to the diode kit and brake away switch, what adventure are you looking forward to most this summer in your RV?
