Specs:
This Master Lock cable serves as a secondary cable for Master Lock's adjustable cable lock (8255DAT; sold separately). It comes in handy when you want to lock up gear you need to access more often than the gear you secure with the cable lock. Simply weave the cable through the handles and cutouts on your gear. Then thread the cable back through its loop and plug it into the lock. Lock the unit and walk away enjoying the peace of mind that comes from knowing that all your valuable equipment is secure.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Master Lock Adjustable Cable Lock With Secondary Cable, 8 feet in length, part number 8255DAT-56. This is also available without the secondary cable as part number 8255DAT. The locking mechanism has two magnets on the underside of the black housing to help keep it away from the cables and for a good look. It has a plastic rubber cap here to keep dirt and moisture out of the lock. It comes with two keys. The cable itself has a vinyl coating to not damage or scratch any of your equipment that your going to be locking up.
This master lock is made of a sturdy steel construction for the ultimate theft resistance. There also is a second hole here in the locking mechanism that the extension cable can go into; this will allow you to lock up multiple items. It also has this loop here, which helps keep the cable out your way when storing it. Now with all of our tools and gear loaded up onto our trailer, we're going to go ahead and lock them up to secure them. We'll take the key, insert it into the lock core to remove the two cables, like so, and then set this aside, we'll take one of our straps to loop around our saw and our lawnmower. We'll then take one end and go through the loop in the cable then go around the trailer. We'll then take one end, hook it in place.
We'll then take our other cable, which we'll loop around the ladder here, again taking this end through our loop then inserting it into the other locking mechanism. You can remove our key and use the dust cap to cover up our lock, and then to keep a nice look we can use the magnets on the bottom, just to stick it to the side; and now with our gear all locked up and secured to our trailer that will complete today's review of the Master Lock Adjustable Cable Lock With Secondary Cable part number 8255DAT-56.
