Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this parallel accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar. Now this accessory mounting plate will let you attach rooftop accessories to your Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar system. This is designed to work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers, or other rooftop accessories. And it can be secured in any hole on your multi-function crossbar.
Uses this push pin system right here. It's a spring loaded push pin, allows for nice, easy one-handed installation of the plate. And also what's nice is right up at the top here, has this silicone washer all the way around, which when it's installed into the crossbar will compress when it's attached to the crossbar creates a nice snug fit. And this does allow quick mounting and removal, makes it very easy to swap out your accessories daily. Now I wanted to demonstrate the crossbar we're talking about. I happened to pull that part.
This is the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar, and you can see it's a square bar that has the holes all the way up and down the crossbar. And what those holes allow you to do is to take your accessory plate like this here, push in on that push pin, push it all the way through and that locks it into place. And now you have a mounting plate to attach your rooftop accessories to.And what's nice about it because it uses that push pin, you can remove it and slide it down to whichever hole you need. So you can quickly put it wherever you need to put your accessories. And the other thing is, if you notice, when it's installed, we call this a parallel accessory mounting plate.
And reason is if you notice the plate itself runs parallel with the crossbar, gives you a nice, strong attachment point. Now, you're probably wondering why this couldn't be installed this way, well these poles are actually not square. So it won't allow it to fit this way. So you could either put it this way or this way. So either way you've mounted, it will be parallel to the crossbar. Now, if you do want one that runs perpendicular, we do sell those separately.
They also make the perpendicular mounting plates. We do sell them separate on our website and they'll install this way if you want. But this one is the parallel design. Now when this is installed, the distance between the crossbar to the top of the plate is about 1-1/8 inches. And again, just to remove it, push it in, pop it right out, just like that. Now this accessory plate is a heavy-duty, carbon steel construction has a nice black powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion. If you notice I've installed the hardware, it is stainless steel mounting hardware for use to attach your accessories to this plate. This part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, we're going to measure the plate for you. Going to be right at 6-1/2 inches by 2-5/8 inches. And the bolt channel width, where these mounting bolts are in these channel, width is 1/4 of an inch. But that should do it for the review on the parallel accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar.
