Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Parallel Accessory Mounting Plate for the Exposed Racks Multi-Function Crossbar. Now this Accessory Mounting Plate will let you attach rooftop accessories to your Exposed Racks Multi-Function Crossbar system. This is designed to work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers or other rooftop accessories, and it can be secured in any hole in the Multi-Function Crossbar. It does use this push-pin system you can see right here, it's a spring-loaded push pin. It allows for a nice, easy, one-handed installation of the plate. And what's nice is also, right up at the top here, it has this silicone washer which will compress when it's attached to the crossbar, to create a nice snug fit.
It does allow quick mounting and removal, makes it very easy to swap out your accessories daily. Now I wanted to show you what we're talking about here. I happened to pull one of the Exposed Racks Multi-Function Crossbar, and you can see it's a square bar that has these holes all the way along the bar. And those holes allow you to put this plate in there and attach your accessories to it, and basically you just put it into the hole and, like we said, just push it on that pin, and it will go all the way through and lock it into place. And then again, to remove it, just push back in on that. And you can put it in any one of the holes all along here. And what's nice is, if you noticed, we called this a Parallel Accessory Mounting Plate, and the reason they call it that is because, when you install it, it goes parallel with the crossbar for a nice strong attachment point. Now you can't put it perpendicular, and reason is these holes in the bar are not exactly square, so it will only mount parallel, either this way or this way, to the bar. Now, if you do want them to mount perpendicular, we do sell those separately.
They do have mounting plates that allow you to mount perpendicular to the crossbar if you prefer. We do sell those separately on our website. Now, when this is installed onto the crossbar, just like that, it's going to be. The distance between the top of the crossbar and the top of the plate is about 1 1/8 inches. And again, just to remove it, push it on the inaudible 00:02:07. It slides right out.
Simple as that. Now this Accessory Mounting Plate is a heavy-duty carbon steel construction. It has a nice black powder-coat finish on it to resist corrosion. If you noticed, I did put the mounting hardware in there. It does include the stainless steel mounting hardware for use with attaching the accessories to this plate. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, the dimensions on the plate itself; it's going to be 4 1/2 inches by 2 5/8 inches, and the channel width of these channels here that those bolt slide in is about 1/4 inch wide. But that should do it for the review on the Parallel Accessory Mounting Plate for the Exposed Racks Multi-Function Crossbar..
