Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this perpendicular accessory mounting plate for the exposed rack's multi-function crossbar. Now this accessory mounting plate will let you attach rooftop accessories to your exposure rack's multi-function crossbar system. This will work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers, or other rooftop accessories. And this plate can be secured in any hole in your multi-function crossbar.

Does use this push pin system right here. You can see allows for nice, easy one-handed installation. And right at the very top here when this is installed, there's a silicone washer that'll compress against the crossbar when it's attached to create a nice snug fit. So this allows a nice, quick mounting and removal, makes it very easy to swap out your accessories daily.Now I wanted to show you what we're talking about here. I pulled one of the exposed rack's multi-function crossbars.

It's a square crossbar. You can see what the holes in it. On the accessory is designed to fit right into those holes. And again, we mentioned the push pin system. So if you just push on that pin, it'll drop right into place and lock in place there.

And that washer we talked about is right up there, gives you a nice snug fit. And then to remove it, just push back in on that pin, you can slide it right out. And what's nice, this is called a perpendicular mounting plate, and the reason they say that is as you can see when it's installed, it'll be perpendicular to the crossbar itself, and it'll only go in that way because those holes are not actually square. In other words, you can't put it in this way. It won't fit, but it will fit this way.Now that we also offer mounting plates just like this that are designed to mount parallel.

In other words, when you install them, there'll be parallel across part. Those we do sell separately on our website. Now the distance between the top of the crossbar and the top of this plate when this accessory plate is installed, about 1 1/8 inches. And then again, to remove it, push it on the pin that pops right out, and you can just put it along whatever hole you want.Now that accessory plate is made of a heavy duty carbon steel construction. Has a nice black powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion. You can see the hardware I've installed that is used to attach your accessory to this mounting plate. That hardware is stainless steel. Now this part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, give you the measurement of it. This plate is going to be right at 3 13/16 by 4 1/2 inches. And the width of those channels that the bolts go through is quarter of an inch.
