As of yet, we haven't had the opportunity to install the Curt Class I receiver hitch, part # C11476 on a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer. I'll link you to the installation instructions, so you can look them over. The installation involves using a fish wire to pull installation bolts into place, so I'll link you to a video that will run you through that process. I've looked over the installation instructions, and they look pretty straightforward.
If you're planning on towing with the hitch, be sure to check with Mitsubishi or the owner's manual to determine if the vehicle is capable of towing, and if so, what the towing capacity is. If you'll be towing, you'll want to order the ball mount part # C45521 as well. You'll also need the properly sized trailer ball. The trailer you're planning on towing should have the required ball size stamped onto the coupler. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use part # A-80 or part # A-82 for a 2 inch ball. You'll also need to install a 4-pole trailer connector, using part # 119178KIT.
The # 119178KIT is a hardwire installed wiring harness that would need to tap into the existing vehicle wiring. I've linked you to a video showing the harness being installed on a similar vehicle.
