Do Romik Running Boards Have Easy Installation And Resist Corrosion And Rust?

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/29/2025

Question:

Are the Romik brackets as annoying to install as the no name nerf bars I tried last year? Took me hours and a second set of hands then had surface rust after a single year. wasted $250 bucks.

Well Jason, most of us have unfortunately been there before with some type of cheap product we wanted to try. The Romik brackets are actually pretty intuitive. They bolt into factory-threaded holes along the rocker panel, no drilling required.

Each bracket is vehicle-specific, and the newer kits like the Romik REC-TP Running Boards w/ Custom Install Kit # RMK92WR even have slotted channels for adjusting board height, accommodating for taller trucks. Most folks get them installed in under two hours with basic hand tools.

As far as rusting out, these won't do that since they are anodized aluminum, and the brackets have strong powder coat.

I've attached a video where my buddy Ed shows you how simple the install process is. :)

Hey Jason, did you get a chance to install the Romik brackets yet? I'm curious to hear if the installation was as smooth as expected and if you're happy with the quality. Let me know how it went, as it could really help others in a similar situation!
