Im looking for a low profile soft truck bed cover for a 1997 chevy silverado z71 6.5 ft bed so I can still run bed rails.

Hey Jeffery, for your 1997 Chevy Colorado I suggest going with the RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-60453. This cover is retractable, is matte black in color, and has integrated side rails with t-slots so you can use a ladder rack like the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters # Y01151-5855.
Those t-slots are also compatible with Thule, Rhino Rack, and most brands that use a standard t-slot opening.
