Can The Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier Carry An Odd Number Of Snowboards?

Question:
Hi I have a Thule ski and snowboard rack that can hold 6 skis or 4 snowboards. My question is how do I properly hold 3 or 2 snowboards? For 3, do I have 2 snowboards on top of each other and one snowboard by itself? For 2, should they be on top of each other or side by side with bindings facing up? What about 3 snowboards and 1 ski is this possible? Just fit the skis if there’s space? Thanks

Hey Mony, that is a good question. The Thule Ski/Snowboard carriers like the Thule SnowPack # TH7326B are really best for carrying even numbers of skis or boards. If you must carry 3 boards, two will be on top of each other and one by itself. The rubber pads will still provide grip for the single board, and the bindings would prevent it from going anywhere. Carrying two or four boards at a time is better though, since they would be the same thickness all the way across.
You could do 3 boards and 1 pair of skis if they all fit. Again, there may be a bit of play for the single board, but it wont be going anywhere because of the bindings.
If you are carrying two boards I would do them on top of each other. That way you get maximum tension and friction from the pads. For real though you could do them side by side too and they would be fine. Just do whatever is easier for you in that case. It wouldn't matter which way the bindings face.

Hi Jesse, I just had an idea. What are your thoughts on 2 snowboards on top of each other and 1 snowboard and 1 set of ski on top of each other? Or should I stick with 3 snowboards and keep skis in car? Thanks
