@Ellen The brackets are going to sit below the board so they'll be your lowest point. From the mounting hole closest to the outside edge of the rocker panel down to the bottom of the bracket is approximately 9". If you find this mounting point on your vehicle's rocker panel you can measure down 9" and see exactly how much clearance you'd be giving up by installing the # 27-6125-1945.
