Hey Gary, while I don't know what AC unit I have I do have some tips for helping with the short cycling. First thing to check is the air filter. That's typically what causes this problem.
Check to see if the condenser is freezing up too. If a drain line is clogged it can cause the condensation to basically freeze up the condenser and cause the short cycling.
