Can Slide Be Out When Replacing Motor and How to Test Slide Out Motor

Question:
This motor aligns exactly with the part number on the motor that failed in my 2016 Jayco X213. When replacing this part can the slide be out? This motor slides a king size bed slide out the back of the RV. Also, is there a way using a multimeter to test the existing motor to make sure it is the problem?

Hey Tom, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, your slide can be out when you're replacing the motor.
To test your current motor you'll just need to swap the polarity to see if it runs. If it doesn't run then you need the Replacement Motor # LC125802 (make sure that 18:1 gear ratio is correct though if your slide uses 2 motors), but if it does run then that means you have bad wiring somewhere that needs to be fixed.

Is the set screw on the top of the motor included? Also, I am getting conflicting information about the set screw. Can you verify if the hole is threaded or does it require a tap to thread the whole and a separate set screw? If so what size tap, how many threads per inch and how long should the screw be?
