Question:
I have a car mate trailer and the battery is dead on the brakeaway do you just sell the battery? Or I have to get the kit? One other thing is my 2019 f 550 on the dash says trailer wiring fault you think its the 7way plug? I have no brakes but have lights. Thank you

You can replace just the breakaway battery if it is dead, with the following:
- Breakaway Kit Replacement 12 V Battery # HM20008
This battery measures 3-1/2" long x 2-3/4" wide x 4" tall, so you'll want to be sure it fits your battery box.
Also, regarding the trailer wiring fault, it is either the 7-way or the wiring to the brakes. I would first check your 7-way (both on your truck and trailer) for corrosion as that can impede the signal, and if those are okay, check the wires leading to the brake magnets for any damage.
