Hello, I have a 1999 Monaco Diplomat with Dometic duo therm that Id like to change the AC units on. It also has the 4 button thermostat as well as 2 other wall mounted controls. Im not sure if it has a heat pump, but do I have to purchase the new ones with it or can I the heat pumps? What are my options? Would this all be plug and play? Thank you,

Since you have a Dometic AC system in your 1999 Monaco Diplomat Class A motorhome the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor - 13,500 Btu - Black # ACDOM135B will be a plug and play replacement for your rooftop unit.

This means that you'll only be swapping out the condenser unit on the roof of your motorhome and will be using the included wiring adapter to plug right back into the system the same way your current unit does, retaining use of your thermostat and air distribution box. The heat pump is part of your condenser unit so you would lose this function but can install Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners - 5,500 BTU # ACMHD for the same effect.

This unit has a start capacitor that helps jumpstart the AC when a campsite or generator doesn't provide enough power, which will make your unit's work load easier, expanding the overall lifespan of the unit.

I do want to note that if you should check the BTU rating of your current unit and ensure you aren't choosing a lower rated unit than you already have.
