How To Measure Trailer Tongue Weight Without Axles Installed On The Trailer
Published 08/18/2021 >
Question:
Ive read your expert knowledge on how and where to locate your random axles but it fails to take Into account - when a trailer is being built or rehabd its totally empty of loaded weight and up on jackstands. So how now to determine tongue weight?? Place a pivot jackstands where you guess the center pivot should be?

This is somewhat difficult but we can do our best to get relatively close to what the tongue weight could be with axles installed. I would take some jack stands and place them where the axles are going. Right at the center of where the axle will sit will give us an idea of what we're working with.
Then take a tongue weight scale like this one # e99044 and you should have a fairly accurate tongue weight.
