Recommended Bike Rack and Cargo Carrier Combination For Airstream Interstate Motorhome

Question:

I have a 24 Airstream Interstate motorhome with a Swagman XC2 bike rack in a 2 receiver. I am interested in adding a cargo rack, but not sure of the best way to mount it with the bike rack. Any suggestions or ideas will be most helpful!

I have a solution for you, but unfortunately it will require replacing your Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack # S64650 you are currently using on your 24 Airstream Interstate Motorhome due to it not being compatible with a cargo carrier.

Instead I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack w/ Cargo Carrier for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # HR1450Z-85 which is rated for use on a motorhome, and can support 2 bikes weighing 50lbs each and 100lbs of cargo on the cargo carrier, or if you wanted to use the cargo carrier as a stand alone carrier it has a rating of 220lbs. The 2 bike part of the rack can also be used by itself, and would allow you to carry your two bikes when you didn't need to the cargo carrier.

If you wanted an option that would allow you to switch between a cargo carrier and an additional 2 bike rack, I recommend taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack w/ Cargo Carrier for 4 Bikes - 2 Fat Tire - 2" Hitches # HR1400Z-85 which includes the same bike rack and cargo carrier as the # HR1450Z-85, but also includes an additional bike rack that can be used instead of the cargo carrier if needed.
