EVERY TIME I USE IT ON BOTH VEHICLES WITH DIFFERENT PSI REQUIREMENTS,IT GOES ONLY TO 40 PSI,NO MORE NO LESS.CAN YOU RESET IT? IT IS NEW AND JUST DOESNT WORK. Do you have a recommendation on the best tire gauge to use?

After reading the air pressure on a particular tire there is a reset button on the Slime High Pressure Dial Gauge # SLM20186 that you will need to press before moving onto the next tire. The button protrudes about halfway up the stem on the gauge, and is also what you would use if you need to let some air out of a tire.
There isn't another way to reset the unit so if you still have issues it's likely a faulty gauge and it needs to be replaced. This Slime Dial Gauge does comes with a 1-year warranty.
This gauge is a nice option, but if you want something a bit more easy to use I like a digital option like the TireMinder Sport # TMG-Sport. This will provide you with a clear LED display with your tire's psi each time you use it instead of having to rely on the hands of a standard dial gauge.
